So we're getting a little crazy with out titles are we? Or are our titles getting lamer and duller... and worst of all, not eye catching? This article will prove that there is a story in every picture and every story has its own title...
After the past days, which turned to weeks, I¡¯ve seen many members troubled over how to title their art uniquely, so that it is successful in the process of uploading. We have recently realized that a title unused is the only way for their picture/etc. to appear on the screen. These days our titles are mumble jumble words and what-in-the-world-does-this-title-do-wit h-the-submission.
This is my first ¡°news,¡± but I wouldn¡¯t call this news, but rather an article of tips on an almost perfect way to title your arts. These are not completely my ideas; in fact, many ideas came from clever users who know exclusive ways to title their submissions! So do not give me full credit to the ideas of titling your art.
¡°Tip¡± save your submission descriptions if they are long, because many titles are already used and you never know if yours is too.
One very ordinary, usually used, idea is to just describe your picture in a few words for the title. This option, however, only comes only to the most original, queer, strange, and craziest of drawings. Or unless you can find a lot of words to describe it! Not very reliable so I suggest that unless you TRULY cannot think of anything creative, to try something else. These titles are not only very unoriginal but some can sound pretty pathetic.
* Example: A Strange Bird Thing *
¡°Tip¡± since titling your submission is almost like titling a book, so being creative and trying to think of a title that no one would ever use, because these submissions are EXACTLY like books.
¡°Tip¡± Good titles show what kind of a person you are, whether sloppy, creative, unique, and crazy!
Using a unique name works well as a title. Perhaps if you had created your own animal or character, you could put their name in the Title box. This is almost always 100% successful. But sometimes people may find you speaking mumble jumble, but hey! Who cares? *Gives a snicker*
* Example: Fox Species named Caffara * (I just made that up, you can use it)
You know how books are about strange titles. Some are Starry Night, Adventure of Westward, and Kingdom go Down (I made them up), since submissions are like that, pretend that your submission tells a story. Pretend you are an author and think of your own unique title that isn¡¯t used by any writer. Maybe a title to describe only a portion of the picture, or represents what the picture stands for. This is a very ¡°handsome¡± way to title your art and gives it a nice touch! I mean, doesn¡¯t it just sound magnificent and cool?
* Example: King of Midnight *
Mumble Jumble? Have you seen pictures titles QWEOIRHD or XLASDFHF? I have. What do you think of the person who titles the submission? A bit desperate? Or not even caring about what title they give the submission as long as it gets in? You can use this, I do guarantee that you will get it through the submission process, but I don¡¯t grantee that people will think you are creative with titles. I mean, ¡°What the heck?¡± if you were just looking at the title, it would draw you towards it now would it? So think twice before you use this kind of a title.
* Example: qpowerioushdk *
Like *takes deep breath* CAPITALIZE YOUR WHOLE TITLE? HOW DOES THAT LOOK? KEWL HUH? YEAH! PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SCREAM AT YOU FOR NOT BEING VERY CREATIVE! WHY DON¡¯T YOU LEAVE THIS FOR UNLESS YOU ARE TOO DESPERATE? Ok, get my point? Unless your title is EXTREMELY short you should not try to use this. It¡¯s no very¡ pretty.
* Example: PRETTY PICTURE *
Why DON¡¯T you CAPITALIZE half OF your TITLE? Isn¡¯t THAT just AWESOME? Well, you might think so, but some people might not. If you have a pretty long title, try not to do this because it¡¯s not very loved and nor is¡
* Example: boat PHOTO *
NoW ThIs Is DeFiNaTeLy KeWl! Har har, you wish everyone would do that. Not very loved either. Now it may SOMETIMES add a nice touch if you have a short title. But long ones HuRt My EyEs. I can already see people stop reading this.
* Example: LoVeS TrEaSuRe *
VVhy don¡¯t you use different letters to represent the word you were going to use. Maybe two v¡¯s for a w, or perhaps a v instead of a u? Well, that¡¯s all I can think of, but maybe you¡¯re creative enough to think of something! ^^ I¡¯m so lazy, but to tell you the truth, it¡¯s very creative and I haven¡¯t seen a single title try it. So be a first! It¡¯s not that bad if you¡¯re sure that people will understand what letter you are trying to represent.
* Example: VVinter VVonder *
Why use letters to represent letters when you can use numbers to represent them? Perhaps instead of HOLY you could do H0LY or HO1Y, etc. These add a nice touch (don¡¯t use capitals all the times if you¡¯re going to use it though). You could use a 1 instead of an l or a capitalized I. A 0 for an o, 5 instead of a capital S, and maybe even a 3 for a backwards E. Be creative, and don¡¯t think I¡¯m going to name all of them!
* Example: H01Y FUTUR3 *
Or perhaps you would just like to divide your title with symbols or numbers. These are ok, unless you think that the title may let the viewers think you¡¯re talking about something all the way different. You could put 2 1¡¯s or 2 l¡¯s to divide words, or maybe just a single 8. A not-a-number symbol allowed is the -. But why divide when you can decorate your title by putting symbols/numbers at the edged of your title?
* Example: 11--Summer8Beauty--11 *
You know how children like to just spell words in correctly, why don¡¯t you be like a child. You could use Beauti instead of Beauty, Summr instead of Summer or Summor, Luv in stead of Lov or Love, look through a dictionary if you¡¯re that desperate!
* Example: Luvin the Wurld *
This is a very common, and actually quite beautiful way to write your title. You could space each letter of the words in your title (but then you¡¯ll have to capitalize your first letter of each word so as not to mess up other people¡¯s minds). If you cannot this every time then¡
* Example: S t a r r y N i g h t *
You could space out every letter, but take away the space between words in case you have no room to space each word out. (So try choosing short but strong/emotional titles for your submissions) In case you want something crazier¡
* Example: B l u eS u n
Put numbers/symbols between the words instead of spaces! These work better for one word titles. Or, divide the words with one number/symbol and divide the phrase with either no space or a different symbol. This however may hurt the eyes unless you try capitalizing the whole phrase, but you know how some people are about those.
* Example: M-a-r-y8S-u-n *
¡°Tip¡± You do not just need to use one of these tips for one title each, try mixing any two or three (or more) ideas and create your own unique title!
I hope that you all will have a clearer mind on how you will title your submissions now. And good day, I wish you luck on your clever ideas....or did I just bore you to death?
**Challenge** Can you open the door to a different way to title a submission?**
