I am so proud of how well this project turned out.
This project began March 12, 2009 and the first part of it is finally finished. Today is January 17, 2010, so just a fraction of this project has taken me 10 months and 5 days (there were a lot of variables that went into the long time frame, but that's beside the point).
So what is the Poetic Almanac? It was originally a forum, but that ended quickly (and catastrophically). Now, it's a research project of mine that focuses on poetics. Poetics is the literary techniques and theory that deals with poetry. The first part, called
The Basics of Poetics has been completed. I estimate that the final product will contain 7 parts. So here are the first five guides for the Poetic Almanac:
Poetic Metaphor
Poetic Devices
Meter
Rhyme and Verse
Fulcrum in Poetry
I hope this helps you out. There will be more to come. Also, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact me.
