1) Why do you make art?
I "make" art because it's my way of expressing myself (cliche, I know). Being a pessimistic to the extreme and an overall social klutz, art is really my only way out.
The photos I take represent how I feel at the moment, and also serve as a way of reminding myself visually of all the wonderful things in the world.
2) What piece in your gallery do you feel is most underrated?
Wow. Tough question. I'd have to say my first fireworks photo..

3) How did you find deviantART?
I didnt find it, it found ME!
4) Who do you feel is underrated here on DA?
Too many to list. That's my only real beef with DA, it's focus on the wild/trendy/social importance instead of raw talent and quality. Community interaction is important, but shouldnt be everything.

Use cute objects in your photos to get fav's out of unsuspecting girls! It works everytime!! Don't tell Mr Chan that though.
1) Why do you make art?
I make art to fill in spare time or sleepless nights. Most of the time it's a choice between scribbling some random picture or watching bad three AM infomercials. The pencil wins most of the time.
2) What piece in your gallery do you feel is most underrated?
Tough question. There isn't really anything in my gallery that I feel is underrated - what is decent received the right amount of attention, and what is godawful has justifiably received little. It's more about which pieces are *overrated*
3) How did you find deviantART?
I found it way back in the dim dark days of early 2001, most likely through some design portals. It took me the best part of a year to finally sign up in December 2001. Lazy, me? Never!
4) Who do you feel is underrated here on DA?
~
naysayer has a fresh, uncomplicated style of art that is distinctly his own. He was the first artist to go on my deviantwatch, and has been there ever since. Highly recommended.
5) Any words of wisdom for your fellow deviants?
Anthro is to art as a fish is to a bicycle.
1) Why do you make art?
The most blunt answer to that would be, survival or money. My art supports my kids and myself. I have never received child support or government aid and it is the way I am able to financially support us and have the ability to be a stay at home single mom and home school them. I am primaraly a painter (I had some painting up in my gallery at one point, but I get moody/weird and like to delete things) and I make functional sculptures, as in furniture as art. I also write under a pen name.
2) What piece in your gallery do you feel is most underrated?
Most likely something that has already been deleted, like some of my writings I had posted ay one time, but a few where long.
3) How did you find deviantART?
I can't really remember, I think I came across it from a link in someone's subkulture journal, but honestly I wouldn't say that was where for sure.
4) Who do you feel is underrated here on DA?
Pin pointing it to just one person, I don't think I can do. There are a lot of really creative people here that don't get noticed (quite a few that I haven't come across yet).
5) Any words of wisdom for your fellow deviants?
You are not owed anything in life, don't expect anything to be handed to you.
1) Why do you make art?
i could come up with some really pompus answer but in the end i really don't know. i get satisfaction from getting an idea out of my head and turning it into something that others can share.
2) What piece in your gallery do you feel is most underrated?

4) Who do you feel is underrated here on DA?
everybody but the 'big' names, there is amazing stuff everywhere but most of it doesn't get noticed unless it flukes a daily dev.
5) Any words of wisdom for your fellow deviants?
create art for yourself, don't follow trends looking for popularity. art is about expression not about popularity.
5) Any words of wisdom for your fellow deviants?
1) Why do you make art?
Its a rather difficult question for me, but basically, Id have to say I make it to help define myself. Everyone has these thoughts, feelings and emotions inside of them, and they usually want to try to communicate them as best they can. Ive just found that I can best do this through writing and photography, though Im just starting to get into the latter.
I grew up in a household that was full of literally thousands of books on a wide range of subjects, and I think its partly because of that that I try to put down my reflections and observations down in words. I would also have to say that my Catholic faith really spurs me to some of my work, and definitely plays a big part in the kind of work I do.
2) What piece in your gallery do you feel is most underrated?
Well, truthfully, Id say that all my work got the recognition it deserved, but
<img src="[link] width="115" height="66" border="0" alt="Island of Capri"> is probably my best photo Ive taken, though its not outstanding. I was pleased with it.
3) How did you find deviantART?
I cant really remember for sure, because I created an account here in 2001, but never really developed it, and I forgot about the site and the name by 2003, when I re-discovered the place. I cant be certain, but I think it was from a button ~
blender13 had on his site.
4) Who do you feel is underrated here on DA?
Thats a real toughie
though Im going to say ~
blender13 again. He doesnt have a whole lot of time to spend here, so I think his stuff kinda gets overlooked.
5. Just remember your focus in everything you do, and everything should turn out alright. If you really want your work to be the best it can be, youve got to dedicate yourself to doing what it takes to become the best. Essentially, keep in mind why youre doing it, and dont let your perception of your capacity limit yourself.
thanks for the invite to participate in this!

hope i'm not too late...
it's longwinded, but it's there.
