Alienware in conjunction with CGNetworks, Nvidia and Intel are running a competition for 3D artists featuring some very high end prizes.
The requirement is to create a 3D rendered image of an alien location, neither populated nor neglected with a strong sense of atmosphere and as much imagination as possible.
Images are required for each of the major production milestones being concept design, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, post production and the final image.
Judging will be done by public vote (for CGTalk members) and a judging panel.
First prize is an Alienware workstation featuring Dual Pentium IV 3.2 GHz processors, 3 GB of DDR RAM and an Nvidia Quadro® FX 3000 256MB video card.
Entries close 20 January 2004 so there is plenty of time to create a polished image.
Good luck to those that choose to enter the competition.
