Even in times of war, the Soldier as an individual is of no consequence. The Soldier is a symbol, a simple pawn in a culture war. The Soldier is either a villain, or a Hero. The Soldier always serves for the honor of his country, not his paycheck. The Soldier is faithful, as there are 'no atheists in the trenches'. The Soldier is Combat Arms. The Soldier is male, he married a young white girl, and he has a baby on the way, whom he has never met.
The Soldier is a romantic ideal.

reports, November 1, 2003The New York Times has published reports that Google.com, the most popular search engine on the internet, has been quietly courting the notion of a merger with Microsoft for the past two months.
Google, the immensely popular internet search engine (founded by Stanford computer science graduate students Sergey Brin and Larry Page), recently celebrated its 5-year birthday this past September and has quickly became one of the most popular Web sites in the world. In recent weeks, the internet giant has become the subject of intense speculation since it indicated to Wall Street the plans to sell shares of itself to the public sometime in the first half of 2004.
Microsoft has been looking to enter the popular and ad-generating search engine business, and according to the article, approached Google within the last two months to discuss options, including a potential takeover. Meanwhile, Google is meeting with bankers in preparation for its highly anticipated initial public offering. The Times says Microsoft's attempts appear to have gained little interest as Google indicates it still prefers the IPO route, which has been speculated to garner sales figures between $15 billion and $20 billion or more.

Microsoft sucks. Internet Explorer sucks. Bill Gates sucks because he has like, billions of dollars and won't loan me a few million. Jerk.
all the M$ bashers really need to knock it off. quietly sulking about M$, go for it, but you don't see me whining and bitching at every single Mac post, do you?
