These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.

The J. Paul Getty Center Hosts Four New Exhibits!

`bookdiva:iconbookdiva: reports, November 10, 2003
The J. Paul Getty Center, Beverly Hills, CA, is currently hosting four new and separate exhibitions, that include photography, sculpture, paintings and stained glass. These exhibits are now on display in different pavilions of the Getty Center.

One exhibition contains photographs by 19th-century, British photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron.

Beginning at the age of 48, she began her photography career, which lasted ten years, and crossed gender borders, as she strived to bring both truth and poetic metaphors to the world, through her photography. The photographs are on display through January 11, 2004.

Here is a link for more information.

Also being featured is an Exhibition of Jean-Antoine Houdon's sculptures, "Sculptor Of The Enlightenment". This is a showing of his bust sculptures, which capture the essence of the revolutionary Enlightment Period. The sculptures are on display through January 25, 2004.

Here is a link for more information.

Here is another exhibition you might want to see while you are there, it is entitled "Casting Characters: Portraits and Studies of Heads", an exhibit of preparation works to be used for larger paintings, and other types of art. The exhibit ends Feb. 1, 2004.

For more information, check this link.

You might also want to check out the exhibition of some of the Getty's own recently acquired stained glass pieces, "Images In Light: Newly Acquired Stained Glass". This exhibit ends April 4, 2004.

For more information, check this link.

The Getty Center doesn't charge an entrance fee, but there is a $5 fee for parking. Contact: (310) 440-7300

The Getty is quite a nice museum. I've been there before. It's surprisingly secluded considering it's in the middle of LA. They picked a nice spot for it up on top of a mountain. You park at the base and take a tram up to the top. Quite neat! I highly recommend it. And make sure you make an effort to dress nicely. Lots of snobs there stare at you if you don't. ;)
~shaz-bot:iconshaz-bot: Nov 11, 2003, 9:19:48 AM
Awesome, I will see if I can make a visit there. The Getty is truly incredible, even if you don't see the art, the buildings architecture is amazing in itself. Heres a photo I took there a few months back :) [link] and here is a shot from inside the tram that takes you to the gallery at the top of the hill. [link]
