Before I start babbling on about these wonderful artists that I'm about to showcase to you, please let me introduce myself. My name is Todd Ruehmer (ree-mer), I'm 19 years old, and I reside in the suburb of Waukesha, Wisconsin, which lies about 20 minutes west of Milwaukee. I'm currently enrolled in the graphic arts program at the University of Wisconsin - Waukesha. I plan to transfer to the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, next fall.
With this issue, "Dos", I intend to introduce some talents .. some who are photographers, some who are traditional artists with mixed media. I wanted to keep a standard to show artists with 5000 views, or at least within a vicinity of that. Also, it's my taste, of art, that not only looks gorgeous, but also has more qualities than just looking good, like design aesthetic, motive, and original technique. This issue not only covers formal art, but also touches base with abstract art and form. It's my opinion that traditional art doesn't get enough exposure on DeviantART, as it should be getting. Perhaps because the common medium here is digital artwork, and of course, acrylic and watercolor is not included.
Without further ado, I give you TWENTY: Dos.

*berniethegiraffe [View Gallery] My first is Brennan, a.k.a. Bernie, an awesome photographer, who takes great initiative in showing expression. I feel an awesome connection this artist, everytime I view one of his self-portraits and his landscapes. The subtle tone in his photos always grab me. Not too confronting, but involving.

~spiriferous [View Gallery] The infamous lonely mouse. Anne seems to make it work. This Virginia native has captured my attention, and never seems to keep me on my feet with her pieces. She often uses representations to express herself, indirectly .. And succeeds every time.

*Gold-Seven [View Gallery] I first viewed this German's artwork and was blown away. Amazing personal interpretations of the Harry Potter book series. Not the movie, mind you, but the books. She has a gift for watercolor, and uses it to the fullest extent. Watch out for her in the future.

~agonis [View Gallery] A political mind has a lot to express. Ana has a knack for incorporating today's global issues into her artwork. Her pieces appear so silent, but only acoustically. What they do say, is only mental telepathy. You can see it in nearly every deviation of hers.

*ciircle [View Gallery] His style of illustration reminds me so much of the planned randomness one would expect in a Joan Miro painting. It's amazing he find the time to create such intricate penwork, in between is party animal life. If you haven't seen his "VVonderBred", I suggest you take a look.

~dnew [View Gallery] This deviant is quite new, and has a very small gallery, but it's an experience to look at it nonetheless. This series of photos reminds me of a day spent out of the town, and quick snapshots of what was seen. They demonstrate a knowledge of photography and composition.

~emur [View Gallery] a photographic wiz-kid, who just happens to be *
berniethegiraffe's best friend. Coincidence? I think not. Chris's sunsets and are amazing. They are so full of life. A recommendation to view would his "Desert Sunset". Who thought cactuses and high tension power line could be the perfect companion to a setting sun?

~lower [View Gallery] The first thing I thought about this artist's style, was Kandinsky, or perhaps a less ecstatic variation. She uses toned down, more neutral colors, than one would expect, with such fluid motion. What I enjoy in Meghana's gallery the most, is the abstract form she take a full aim at. Expressive, in a personal way.

*eswendel [View Gallery] Seeing this nature photographer's pictures make me want to hop on the next flight to Finland, pronto. Esa has the ability to find the most beautiful locations in his vicinity, and make them even more beautiful, not to mention he hits my weak spot with his breathtaking winter photos.

~eclectic-fusion [View Gallery] I'd be kicking myself in the jaw if I didn't showcase this guy to you all. For what I have experienced, there is nothing that compares to the sight of being over the clouds in an airplane, as Paul perfectly shows in one of his deviations. Give him a look, and I'll be your best friend forever.

~melvinkobe [View Gallery] I'm only featuring Carlos because he promised me Belgian ladies. Lol. Just kidding. He has a delightful style of photography. Always crisp looking and absolutely rich in color. He has a natural touch making some spectacular portraits.

Good deviation choices to showcase too. Diverse and each has its own merit.
Thank you very much for this issue.
