Personas: Lightweight themeing for Firefox!

=edmunn:iconedmunn: reports, July 15
Personas are lightweight, easy to install and easy to change “skins” for your Firefox web browser.

Personas builds upon the ideas that:
Themes today are too hard to find, install and use

Graphic designers should be able to style the browser without having to code

Browsers can be more than just desktop software, they can include online components

People just want their computer to be a little more fun and personal

Labs has just begun exploring the possible benefits of an online component to deliver a better browser experience. There much to explore in this regard; Personas is a simple example. Persona selector is dynamically loaded and populated from a JSON feed and all designs are loaded via URLs to remote resources. All changes to the browser chrome are applied instantly, with no need to restart.

It's a very good system, and I recomend trying it out to get the most from Firefox!

I'm not sure if this is really all that relevent or helpfull; but if you have acrobat installed on you'r system you will be prompted to download this as an update. Beside the loose use of the term update; this really is quite usefull if you have a large collection of photo's spread accross numerous hard drives! The tags are really easy to work with and are genuinly usefull. Although the feature set is a bit limited (can be expanded if you pay), and i keep find my self try to access features that are only avialable in the pay version. Still; pretty good for a completly free program (update!).

I like this program, I just got it ^_^
I need to sort through like 2500 pictures but thats ok, I might buy it.
`splat:iconsplat: Feb 24, 2004, 1:04:40 PM
I was hesitant to even look at this news article, as I never really put any stock into the "photo album" applications out there, but Photoshop Album looks quite impressive from just looking at the website. And props to Adobe for offering a no time limit preview version, which I'm sure will get people to use it for a while before deciding on whether or not to purchase the full version.

After looking at the Overview page, I think I might actually download this and give it a try. I've often had problems finding my photos, even though I've got them organized by date and title in their own folders in Windows. The Calendar View looks interesting, making the search for photos by date ( something I do quite often ) much easier.

I also really like the fact that it can fix basic flaws in photos right there without having to edit the picture in Photoshop. My Sony Clie PDA has a camera that gets plenty of use but takes pictures that always need color and contrast changes, so these features would be quite useful to me.

Anyway, I'll give this a try at home and see if it's got the potential of becoming my prime application for organizing my many, many digital photos.
