"An attractive showcase for the visual arts, Chicago's 57th Street Art Fair exhibits the work of more than 300 artists from throughout the United States and Canada in mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics and more.
An art fair for art enthusiasts, 57th Street Art Fair is one of the country's largest not-for-profit juried professional art fairs dedicated to displaying original art by artists who sell their own work.
An annual event, the 57th Street Art Fair is always on the first full weekend in June."
The fair is a Hyde-Park tradition that has been around for some time now. The art featured is usually pretty good and there are a lot of interesting pieces setup. Most of the artists are open to talking and giving out information and cards. Plus its just a good place to take a look at some art and enjoy a nice day.
In addition to the regular events on Sunday June 7th the University of Hip-Hop will be re-working a mural that was started last year along the wall of the local Kinko's alley. So all are invited to come out and watch that created.
The event runs from the following times on Saturday and Sunday:
June 5th and 6th 2004
Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
