QANTAS SPIRIT OF YOUTH AWARDS
The Noise Festival has teamed up with Qantas to bring you its Spirit of Youth Awards - an invitation to young Australians (aged 25 and under) to submit their creative work, with the chance to win cash, flights and professional mentoring.
The Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA) span fields of endeavour including art, music and design. The aim of the project is to recognise, encourage and celebrate young Australian talent. The awards are a part of Sharing the Spirit, a new Qantas community initiative, designed to help Australians connect with their heroes, their loved ones and their dreams.
Noise invites all young Australians (aged 25 and under) to submit work in the following categories:
Words
Including fiction, creative non-fiction, prose, poetry, letters, stories, raves, diary entries, the list goes on...
Photography
Digital or analogue, colour or black & white. We want to see what life is like through your lens.
Music
If youre in a band or you're a solo artist, we invite you to send your original musical creations our way. All musical styles are welcome: electro, rock, country, classical, hip-hop, jazz, indie, metal, dub, folk... or the unclassifiable. We want it all!
Moving Pictures
We invite all young filmmakers and animators to submit their made-for-screen creations. We are after anything and everything that can be shown on screens large or small - including short films, documentaries, any type of animation, audio-visual creations and curious experimental works.
Fashion Design
We invite all young Australian fashion designers to send us samples of their work. All styles of fashion and accessories are welcome, from casual to couture. If you can wear it you can enter it!
Pictures
We are seeking an assortment of visual works. Illustration, graphic design, painting, mixed media, comics - in fact any style of imagery - is welcome.
Industrial Design
If you dream up products or create functional objects, send your work our way. From two-dimensional diagrams in your sketchbook to those already transformed into three-dimensional realities, we are seeking the latest creations by young industrial designers.

If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams and follow your heart, you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy!

A man is like a fraction whose numerator is what he is and whose denominator is what he thinks of himself. The larger the denominator the smaller the fraction.
