This devMEET, much like `superkev's Hamilton devMEET which was held on the 26th of June, is the first devMEET of the area. Yes, that's right, it's Grimsby, Ontario's first ever devMEET, and I want YOU (yes, you!) to be there!

Date: August 21st, 2004
Time: I'm going to say 12 o'clock noon sounds good
Place: Donut Diner [meeting place, address below], then Nelles Park which is just across the street!
Bring: paint, paint brushes, other sort of real media, rags, empty containers for water, 5 - 10$[CDN], camera, water bottle[s], whatever else you think you should bring, yourself!

The Plan:

Group mural! More instructions will be given at the meet, as I don't know everything for this yet. There will be a meeting with ~thegnat in a week or so to discuss this project and other activities. But for now, just try to remember to bring some ply wood if you can (we're going to go to the local lumberyard and see if they'll donate to us.. It's a good cause, right?), bring paint brushes, rags if you like, paint, and any other media you'd like to contribute to this mural with. If there is any reason you can't bring something or you're short of supplies, I'll make sure there are some extra.

Art Gallery! This is nearly a must! I haven't got an idea what they'll be showing, yet. They've actually been closed, so I haven't been able to check into it. They're currently reconstruting the library and art gallery (they're connected), so I'm not sure when they'll be completed. It should be done soon, though. This shouldn't take up much time anyhow, maybe half an hour to an hour.

Pizza! After thinking, I cam to the realization that acquiring a barbeque is near impossible; and to top it off, I'm not too fond of barbequing myself! So we're going with the alternative: PIZZA! The pizza place is located in the same plaza as the Donut Diner, and has really good pizza, and wings if you're into getting messy. We can order a bunch of pizzas and bring them back to the park. Like I mentioned in the notes I sent out a few weeks ago, bring at LEAST five to ten dollars (preferably Canadian dollars) to cover for food. Keep an eye out on this journal for updates on what we'll be eating.

Donut Diner! If you paid attention to my forum posts, you'd know that the Donut Diner is where we'll be meeting up. It's just around the corner from the park the meet will be held in, and it's a rather nice place to meet and wait around in. If we're caught waiting for a few deviants for a little bit, or you show up early, you can look around the plaza, and even go across the street to the Dollarama, where everything is a dollar.. Plus tax. It's not a hard place to find, it's located at 159 Main Street East. If you want directions right away, just send me a note and I'll do the best I can. You can set yourself up with the wonderful site which is known as MapQuest for personalized directions. Grimsby is fairly easy to get to, it has three interchanges, so.. Pick which one you want to get off on! If you are confused about that, ask me, I'll tell you which one you should get off on in order to get to the Donut Diner without having to drive through town, lol.

Any suggestions? We need more activities for this meet! I have no idea what sort of things to do, give me your input, people! I've never been to a devMEET, let alone held one, so I'll look into doing ANYTHING. Just nothing too drastic. We can even go hiking up the Escarpment. There's trails and whatnot. I don't know, I want your input first!
