Melbourne is holding another DeviantMeet, and this time we're pushing it big. The meet has been organized by *budgieishere and *braidy, with enormous support from many deviants showing interest in the meet. We decided to get onto organizing the meet about a month before we planned to have it, which has given us the ability to trundle around trying to inform as many deviants that might be able to make it to the meet about it. By doing this, a fair few deviants from the Melbourne area already know about it. But for those we haven't reached yet, here are the details!

Date: 25th September, 2004. Yes, we know that's Grand Final Day, but we also know that not all (yes that remaining 0.001% of Victorians) will be interested in the big match, so it can be an alternative to those who wish to have a fun day out. Additionally, if people wish to watch the match, they can meet initially, head off to Federation Square to watch the match there, and catch up with us later.

Initial Meeting Place: The grassy spot with the weird black sculpture things between the Melbourne Concert Hall and the Spire. Very accurate description, I know, but they don't have a name, so that's what we have come up with. If you are not sure what we're on about, there's a couple of photos (thanks to *scoota269) of the 'sculptures' in either of our journals. We also have a map of the meet location, which can again be found in our journals.

Time: 1pm. *budgieishere and myself will be there a bit earlier just to be organized. We will have some form of sign made, or be wearing something that everyone can recognize so that they know who we are. Wouldn't want to walk up to a complete stranger and make yourself look like an idiot would you? Anyway to keep in touch with the noticing part, just check our journals closer to the meet date.

Activities Planned: The meet is going to be based around the Southbank, Botanical Gardens, in that general area. So bring a camera, drawing / writing book, footy, vortex, hacky sac, etc, to play around with. Southbank is looking like the place for food, although that's a flexible one. We might go and see a movie if anyone is interested, but don't chuck a hissy fit if it's one you've seen before, we can't do much about that! I've also had a suggestion from someone about playing a DDR machine, or just trundle through the game section of Crown. Of course, there is still plenty of time for fresh ideas.

We are open to suggestions that anyone may come up with on activities that we could partake on that day, so don't hesitate to drop either of us a line with some ideas or queries about events.

We need to know who wishes to come, as it is a bit unfair on the organisers with people just turning up on the day. So if you wish to come, leave a comment on either of the meet journals, or note either organiser.
