Photo-Manipulation Love!

=ClockworkDesigns:iconClockworkDesigns: reports, 1d 17h ago
These are photo-manipulations that have been chosen based on the amount of creativity put into them or the type of techniques used to create such eye candy. Some of these people are fairly unknown and I wanted to give them an opportunity to be seen by the public. Please show the artists your support! :D

ColorPic 3

With its magnification area (for precision), this light-weight application will inform you of the exact color of the exact pixel that you'd like to know.
Just select the pixel, store the color, and then you are easily able to copy it. Great for precise color matching!

ColorPic 3 features:

:bulletgreen: Easily pick any color from the screen.
:bulletgreen: No popup adverts or spyware, it really is free.
:bulletgreen: Colors shown in hex and decimal.
:bulletgreen: Easy to use with any other program.
:bulletgreen: Resizable magnification area.
:bulletgreen: Overlay a grid for quick pick alignment.
:bulletgreen: Use arrow keys to nudge mouse pointer.
:bulletgreen: Save multiple palettes of colors automatically.
:bulletgreen: WebSafe Colors are displayed.
:bulletgreen: Snap to nearest WebSafe color.
:bulletgreen: Web color names displayed.
:bulletgreen: Edit color values after selection.

aka eye dropper tool in photoshop

i don't see why an entire different application is needed for color choosing
`mirrorkills:iconmirrorkills: Sep 21, 2004, 11:17:40 PM

wierd.

You know what would rock? A Live Network Overlay where you could add Project Palettes so Anyone, Anytime could just go to the overlay on there creen. Choose the Project and they allready know HEX CMYK etc. Beat emailing or shouting Hex codes etc :D

I think im onto somthing!!!

So if you want to have only ONE color from a picture, for lets say when you're coding some css. You'd go though the entire trouble of taking a screenshot, opening PhotoShop, pasting it in, extract the color and shut the whole thing down again?

This is a much easyer method, not overkill at all. ;)
`sycho:iconsycho: Sep 21, 2004, 11:52:44 PM
I dunno, it has a lot of nifty features, and the palette is very useful and all.. but imo the app has too many features for a color picker. Personally I use ColorPad - it's so light and easy to use and has exactly what I need. A screen of reference, the ability to get the hex code and that's it.
~ASilveryColt:iconASilveryColt: Sep 22, 2004, 12:36:28 AM
Heheh, I always found easy enough to press print screen, paste and use the color picker... :D

I prefer Pixie. It's about four kilobytes in size.
~leliathomas:iconleliathomas: Sep 22, 2004, 2:35:20 AM
Well, I'm one of the ones that thinks this is a little silly. It's not all that hard to take a screenshot and get the color you want. If you feel it is...whoa, well, that's just a wee bit lazy. :lmao:

I'd like to mention something though, that may or may not be true, since I haven't downloaded and installed this. It has no setup? Seems weird. Does that mean it does or doesn't have a uninstall then? I don't know...at least in my experience, it's seemed like most of the things that didn't go into the effort of putting an install/setup application also didn't go to the trouble of adding a uninstall application, which makes for some tricky program removal when they happens. Hopefully it does have one though. :)

~Hazadess:iconHazadess: Sep 22, 2004, 2:55:29 AM
It has no setup because you don't have to install it. Just unzip, and you'll get a standalone .exe, just lunch it, and it lunch the program.... No install so, no uninstall. 100% risks free :P
