Traditional Representation - Vector Contest

^Ikue:iconIkue: reports, 15h 2m ago
DaVinci, Picasso, Monet... these are all names I'm sure you've heard of before. They are the Masters of the art world and their talents are world renowned. But have you ever looked at their pieces and thought to yourself "I could do better" or "that would look awesome in a comic style"? Well here's your chance. How would you have painted DaVinci's Mona Lisa? Show me using only Vectors.

TokyoArtBeat Launches

°jark:iconjark: reports, October 3, 2004
Are you an art lover residing in, or around, the Tokyo area? Looking for a wonderful resource to help you find art related events in the city? Look no further than TokyoArtBeat!

Here is what TokyoArtBeat has to say about itself:

Your TV has 12 channel, Tokyo has over 300 art venues. Tokyoartbeat.com offers the most comprehensive listings of art & design related events in the Tokyo area with permanently more than 150 events & 300 venues' details. All are cleverly classified by categories, areas, time schedules or interests and allow you to discover, in just a few clicks, the wealth of culture pounding and resonating throughout the city. Feel it all in one site on your way out!

This is a great resource for anyone in Japan. The site is well designed and offers a number of ways to find events. It is offered in both Japanese and English and even available in a mobile version so if you are on the go you can hit the site via your keitai and find an art venue to visit. This is a truly revolutionary site for artists and art lovers in Japan!

I know, seeing as I live near Tokyo, that I will be making great use of this exceptional resource.

Is my understanding correct that a keitai is the mobile phone analogue to an RSS feed? Regardless of the fact that I'm somewhat distant from Japan, it's good to see that services like this are extending into a wider range of interest fields.

°jark:iconjark: Oct 3, 2004, 4:27:04 AM
a keitai is merely a mobile phone. all our phones have internet access on them. there are generally mobile versions of sites which dumb down the interface and remove all the bloated code that appears on a PC.

I am certain that the Japanese mobile network is reverse engineered from alien technology. Which is your forte, really.
