Printmaking Series Two - Intaglio Printing II

^stigmatattoo:iconstigmatattoo: reports, July 12
Printmaking produces images with visual qualities that are very different from those obtained through drawing or painting directly, and each technique adds its own peculiarities to the way each piece is conceived. However, with its odd and alchemical combinations of unusual materials, specific tools and enormous machines, Printmaking is often a strange and foreign territory even for artists accustomed to studio work on other disciplines.

Traditional

Rules of the Traditional Art Forum.

`alphaosiris:iconalphaosiris: reports, March 6, 2005
Welcome to the Traditional Art forum. please take note that this is the "Traditional Art" forum. This means that there are a few specifications to be had with all the threads that are made in here.

1. The term "Traditional Art" (or TA, for short) entails a work that has been produced using the traditional (or non-digital) mediums. Generally the only way to do this is to take a photo - this is entirely acceptable. The kind of images that should find their way here should clearly show the work of art and should avoid including objects not relating to the piece. (taken from the TA submission discription)

Seeming as though this is the TA forum, all other types of art threads will be deleted from here. This includes Anime films, art/design software (such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash), Photography, and anything not TA material. Manga comics are acceptable, as they are handdrawn typically and fall within the TA category as a result.

2.There will be no asking for comments, favorites, pageviews or deviant watches in this forum. This is called spam, and is forbidden from all deviantART forums. The only acception of the Deviation Thumbshare forum, which is reserved for sharing thumbnail pictures of each other's deviations, specifically. Spam also includes the posting of your (or another's) contest, contest rules, dAmn channels, threads made to showcase other art websites and other variants.

All spam threads will deleted, no questions asked.

3. There is a variety of thread topics that would be better suited for your journal, and not in the deviantART forums. Such topics include asking others to make a charactor or drawing for you, boasting or complaining about pageview/favorite/comment amounts, non-TA art narratives, and many others. These threads are not allowed in any deviantART forums, and will be closed as well.

4. As all deviantART forums, a civilized manner is expected of you. Keep threads constructive.

5. Dicussion about other artists is fine. However, the topic cannot showcase your own work. Other deviants' artworks are allowed, only if the topic revolves around constructive discussion about the deviant or his/her artwork, rather than simple praise to that deviant. Links to that person's website or userpage are alright, as they aid the discussion and allow convenience.

The TA forum, along with all other deviantART forums subscribe to the DA ettiquette policy. Please follow it.

If you have any questions about these rules, please ask me in this thread.

This is subject, but not limited to, amendments, alterations, and clarifications.

Good article, I wish they posted a similar one for all the galleries (especially the Digital Art one!). There were some typos though, "acception" when it should have been "exception", "charactor" in place of "character" and "etiquette" has an extra t. Just nitpicking, sorry.

Hmmm, no contests. That will make it easier to hunt for contests.
~Meilute:iconMeilute: May 10, 2005, 2:00:00 AM
It's great when the rules are clearly depicted. Thanks :)
Only one question - why can't topics asking to draw something be posted in this forum? They are about traditional art... The same is about contests..
