Dressed as a British pensioner, a man named Bansky quietly entered 4 well known art galleries in NYC and made some changes of his own; by putting up a piece of his own art in each gallery.

Rather than steal art from a gallery, Bansky apparently felt his works were good enough to be in the galleries and decided to skip the waiting period by displaying them himself along with a name plaque and explanation.

The four museums that were hit with these new acquisitions were the Brooklyn Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Natural History. Staff at the Met and at MoMA have already removed the pieces, though it is unconfirmed as to whether the other two have been located and dismantled.
