DeviantART is proud to announce that our first official convention appearance at Anime Expo 2008 was a complete success! To say the convention was a good time and our booth was well received would be an understatement.
We brought the power to the people and asked you -- those who actually wear deviantWEAR -- to help choose our next shirt! The decision was all yours and democracy has spoken! After tallying favorites, pageviews, and positive feedback, the winner of deviantWEAR's Creative Battle has been chosen!
Over the last seven years, Fella has grown to become the dashing, mysterious, and informative character that we know and love. Today, deviantART is looking for the community's help to decide Fella’s official 'pose' (aka selecting the definitive Fella). Every vote counts!
We're bringing the power to the people and asking you -- those who actually WEAR the designs -- to help choose our next deviantWEAR shirts! That's right, the decision is all yours. Practice your democratic skills and vote for your favorites.
Fella is an international man of mystery and intrigue! You never know where he might turn up next. Romancing the ladies in Paris, taming wild llamas in Peru, or exploring King Tut's tomb in Egypt, Fella leads the life that most only dream of. Read on for information on how YOU can help Fella!
Team deviantWEAR is at it again! Bringing you four brand spankin? new designs for the spring season. It's the time of year for color, and colors abound in this release. We're blinding you with rays of hot pink, fields of bright yellow, and splashes of orange. If you don't like at least one of our new shirts, we'll give you a million dollhairs!
Welcome to the Staff Spotlight, a new ongoing featured interview series! The purpose of this series is to not only provide an entertaining interview, but to also bring some light to some of the lesser known faces who help run things behind the scenes. As the community grows, so does the staff, and we want to let you get a chance to get to know some of these people who you may not ordinarily run into while out and about in the community!

The primary focus of the Unknown Artists Project is to expose talented, yet underrated, artists on deviantArt. In spirit of that goal, we will present to the community a monthly feature showcasing unknown artists. As this is a new community project, we have secured enough support to feature photography, traditional art and literature. We are working to incorporate other galleries but we will need community support so please visit the Unknown Artists Project website to learn more and become involved.
If you are using Internet explorer, you must right-click on the thumb and choose "Open in new window" and the deviation will appear, along with the artist's name. Please visit the FAQ to learn more about the Unknown Artists Project and how you can contribute to its success.
The only pieces of art that caught my eye would be ^twosilverstars's selections. It's not in my point to judge other people's hard work though, so I will leave my comment to just that.
I can't help but think that all these features, while excellent in every which way, are a little bit redundant. Barring the fact we have several anyway (TWENTY etc.), do we not have the perfect mechanism for this style of thing anyway in DD's?
Many people have been complaining heartily about the quality of DD's recently, and the recent offering of them as a prize in the emote contest is an all time low for them as far as I'm concerned. Could we not solve all our problems by featuring lesser artists as Daily Deviations instead? The attention received from them is phenomenal, as they are literally seen all over the site, and they are provided in a manageable size each day - personally, all this art at once is just too much, I don't have time to check it all out. If we had just 4 each day - photography, traditional, digital & literature - it is more likely that every one of them would get the attention they deserve, rather than it being so diluted.
I'm not trying to belittle the work you do here, because it's certainly worthy. I simply feel that it could be far more effective if we combined them all down in this form though, truly spreading Unknown Artists throughout the site.
There are some good pieces here, but there are too many artists here on DA to feature them all, unfortunately. There will always be good works which will be left out...
