RAPP is a means of getting the names of great artists previously unknown in the community and thrusting them into the spotlight. Each of the following four deviants will be getting a 3 month subscription as a means of encouragement! Hopefully this will inspire more people to get involved and really open up RAPP as a premier part of UA. Thank you for your time and enjoy our selections! Alex

~bmoss is one of the most talented folks that I know on dA that really should get a lot more recognition. Just going through his gallery you can find so many fantastic treasures. He strives on trying new things, new subject matter, new styles, and every single time with an amazing approach. Easily some of the best abstract, and symbolic work I have seen, he really understands and uses emotions to really bring his works to life. Each and every piece tells a gripping story that I will not dare turn away from. And most of these stories do have happy endings. I can see so much joy for life and love in his latest works, especially the one he dedicated to his wife who is expecting their baby to be born very soon. That painting touched me so much that I cried for joy. I highly recommend viewing his entire gallery.

Watching a child grow is one of the most wondrous things an adult can see, for they do not hold back: if they're sad they cry, if they're happy they smile and laugh. They never try to look their best; they just are who they are. No falsifications. For this very reason, they are the ideal photographic subject, from the second they are born.
=TimelessImages has cottoned on to this truth and has spent her time photographing children. Her photographic technique is coming along nicely: her black & white tones revealing emotions more prominently than colour. Lighting is well tamed and composition always full of impact. Instead of taking the more traditional route of capturing the children while they're smiling, Jessica has photographed them in everyday situations, including the tantrums. After all, photographs document their lives; it's only fair we should get to see the entire picture. Congratulations to Jessica for pulling all stops and creating a true portfolio of our dearest creations.

~Hideyoshi has a wonderful sci-fi gallery. His pieces are full of creativity and is well executed with skills and details. His atomospherical paintings caught my eyes right away. Perhaps the paintings may not give you a blast right away, but the wasted feeling and setting of the alien world will get to you as you take a closer look. A mostly sci-fi gallery but with aspects that gives it a unique twist, chosen mainly because of the fact most works are "without reference" therefore more difficult to complete with a high standard, which Hideyoshi certainly does well.

In conjunction with recognition programs like UA and RAPP, DRP was originally designed to shed a spotlight on artists who are new to the dA community or have gained little attention since joining.
In addition to this an artist chosen for DRP is usually an individual who wishes to pursue the arts as a future living; using deviantART to develop their skills, gain feedback, and build an appreciation for other styles of work through daily interaction with other artists. Artists featured will also show a high level of creativity, imagination, and originality. Work may come from any genre including digital, traditional paints, pencils, photography etc.
DRP awards a chosen artist with a Prints Account hosted by deviantART. It is hoped that a Prints Account will help to foster an artist's artwork, working as an incentive to either help pursue future studies or to create their own niche within the community where they may sell what they have created.

One of the original goals of the deviantART Recognition Program was to highlight artists within deviantART who conveyed an enormous sense of creativity and imagination through their artwork; regardless of the medium chosen. Kalen Compernolles work is perhaps the epitome of creativity and imagination each piece differs from the last, exploring new techniques, styles and emotions. I am left with the sense that Kalen isnt scared to run free with her thoughts and feelings; that there is nothing too sensitive or thought provoking to share.
The thought process that goes into each photograph ensures that the piece steers clear of the cliché, ensures that each piece sends a message to the viewer, and ensures that each piece speaks its own story. Kalen has also demonstrated a proficiency in the use of lighting (both natural and studio), and the use of make-up/props in order to enhance the meaning/impact of each photograph.

You don't take a photograph, you "make" it.
