Ottawa, the Canadian capital, is celebrating its 125th year this summer. If thats not enough to entice you to play tourist, then maybe another attraction might.
The National Gallery of Canada is proud to present
Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and the Renaissance in Florence. The exhibit, which opens on May 29th and runs to September 5th, will showcase paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints created by the masters between 1500 and 1550. The Uffizi in Florence, the Louvre in Paris, and National Galleries in London and Washington have contributed works by del Sarto, Fiorentino and Bronzino, among others. The event will also serve to launch a drawing by Pontormo, which was recently acquired by the Gallery. This will be the first exhibition of its kind in Canada.
