reports, June 2, 2005  At some point in life, every photographer must take a stand, and choose GOOD or BAD. Or BOTH. That is what this contest is about. This is your chance to boldly declare your allegiance to GOOD or BAD or at least to firmly and resolutely straddle the line between the two! It's your call to epic battle for photographic supremacy, with money and fame as your trophies, so that you may hoist them above your head and declare, "I am the champion of GOOD/BAD/BOTH!" There are two themes in this contest. You can choose to portray the concept of GOOD or you can choose to portray the concept of BAD. You may choose to portray BOTH concepts if you wish, by entering one photo for each theme. The themes of GOOD and BAD are broad ones. We know they're not easy! That's why the photographers who express them best deserve special recognition. Be creative with how you interpret them, and glory will follow you.  First of all, you must choose sides. Do you want to shoot for GOOD? Do you want to shoot for BAD? Do you want to shoot for BOTH? Then, you must be patient. GOOD and BAD both want you to bide your time and come up with a great photo that truly speaks for the side (or sides, you fence-sitter) you've chosen. Therefore, you may only enter your photo on or after June 9, 2005. If you attempt to enter your photo before June 9, the combined forces of GOOD and BAD will rain death upon your entry and disqualify it. On or after June 9, you may enter ONE photo per side. Submit your photo to dA, and email the LINK to the photo to the appropriate email address:  If you have chosen the theme GOOD: goodphotocontest@gmail.com If you have chosen the theme BAD: badphotocontest@gmail.comRemember, you can only enter ONE photo PER SIDE, so choose carefully. We will accept your first entry only. Any other entries you make will be subject to the same lethal hail of disqualification that greeted the too-early arrivals. The closing date for entries is 11:59PM EST (New York time), on June 30, 2005.   ©suzi9mm will be judging the entries to the BAD theme. She will pick ONE winner from this theme. ^superkev will be judging the entries to the GOOD theme. He will pick ONE winner from this theme.©suzi9mm and ^superkev will also pick 5 photos from their respective themes to post in polls. You will be able to vote and choose the winner of the poll.  Themes: GOOD and BAD Medium: Photography Number of Entries: Each deviant may submit only ONE photo per theme. Only the deviant's FIRST submission will be considered. Subsequent submissions will be disqualified. Method of Entry: Entries must be uploaded to deviantART. Email the link to your entry for GOOD to goodphotocontest@gmail.com. Email the link to your entry for BAD to badphotocontest@gmail.com. Do NOT email the photo itself. Policy on Manipulation: Manipulation is fine as long as it isn't too obvious and doesn't become the main point of the photo. Don't ask if your photo is too manipulated. If you need to ask, it is. Submission dates: All entries must be submitted to us by email between 12:00AM EST, June 9, 2005 and 11:59PM EST, June 30, 2005. We will consider ONLY entries submitted between these dates. It must be a NEW PHOTO posted AFTER June 9, 2005. Poll voting closes at 11:59pm EST, July 2, 2005. Winners will be announced no later than July 3, 2005.  What do you get for triumphing in the photographic battle of GOOD vs. BAD? As we mentioned earlier, the prizes are money and fame. The winners of each theme will receive $50 in dA bucks to spend as they wish on dA merchandise like clothing, prints, memberships, etc. The winning photo from each theme as chosen by ©suzi9mm and ^superkev will also be featured as a Daily Deviation in July. The winner of each poll will get $10 in dA bucks. Even if you don't win the grand prize or win in the polls, your work may still get some exposure. We'll be creating a news article to feature the best entries from the contest. Have fun shooting, and may the forces of GOOD or BAD or BOTH be with you! |
