Deviants design merchandise for HUGE BANDS!

reports, July 1, 2005| We're thrilled to announce an awesome new relationship for deviantART! Our friends over at BandMerch are the merchandising company for the hottest bands in the world. This merchandise (or swag, if you like) appears in stores, on tours, and is sold through the official bands' websites. BandMerch represent dozens of the hottest bands that exist, and they work with them to decide which designs will be used on the official band merchandise. Have a quick look at the list to your right to see some of the bands they work with. Here's the exciting part: In the coming week, we'll be releasing a new category here at deviantART that we call the Community Marketplace. The Community Marketplace will contain a section for Band Merchandise Designs. In this section, you'll be able to submit art designs for consideration on t-shirts as well as other merchandise for some of the biggest music acts in the world! Best of all, if the work you submit to these categories is to be used by the band, you would be contacted and paid for the designs! Now, it's important that I say this so that we don't get mixed up: These bands aren't guaranteeing that they'll use designs from those categories, and there is no guarantee that your design would be chosen, but one thing we can promise is that BandMerch will be keeping a very close eye! Deviants are the most talented group of folks on the planet. Within the next year, my bet is that the designs for official merchandise for the biggest bands in the world will come from deviants. When the Community Marketplace is up and running next week, we'll send out a hot topic to inform you.
