Hunter S. Thompson bows out with a bang.

*hesir:iconhesir: reports, Aug 22, 2005
Hunter S. Thompson was known for his "cutting and explosive" writing style, he made a name for himself during the sixties pioneering his "gonzo" journalism style (where the role of reporter at times becomes blurred with that of the participant), but it was with the publication of his book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" in 1972 that confirmed his status as cult writer.

On February 20 ealier this year Thompson took his life with a gunshot to the head at his home in Woody Creek, Colorado.

His last wish was that his ashes be fired into the sky above his home.

Been a while since he'd died. This dude reminds me a lot of my dad. I was bummed for a good week after I 'd heard he offed himself. It's too bad the world has become such hell that THAT seems like a good solution.
