Greetings!
I am the Customer Service Manager for the Prints Department, and these weekly updates are designed to keep our Print Artists more informed about changes, problems and general goings-on within the Prints Program.
Key System Explanation
As you can see at the very bottom there is a Key System. The way this will work is simple. If you have a specific inquiry or suggestion for a specific department, begin your comment with the appropriate Key Code, that way we can search the page and compile them and address them in next weeks update.
Quality Control Update
Using the Print Templates
The new print templates have been a big success! Due to the feedback from our artists, some of the template files have been tweaked and corrected, so make sure that you've downloaded the latest versions before you attempt to work with the templates in creating source files for print.
When using these templates, it must be noted that they are only to aide you with the layout of your print images and that bleed edge/product corner indicatiors MUST NOT be shown in the finished print images. The Quality Control Team had to reject quite a few products due to the red corner indicators being left on the print source images.
You can download the latest versions of the templates
here.
Product Changes
Please remember that your sourcefiles for the products listed in our
last weekly update need to be updated by October 17th, or they will be removed from sale until you are able to update them.
- If you have a print that includes multiple source files and/or products, only the incorrectly sized products will be removed.
- Coasters: Since the aspect ratio did not change, "old" source images can still be used if they meet the new requirements, so we won't be disabling ALL coaster images that have not been updated: just the ones that do not meet the new minimum requirements.
Customer Service Update
The Location is Fab-u-lous Dahling.
Please make sure that you are sending your print-related inquiries to the
Prints Help Desk, and not the Community Help Desk. Doing so will ensure that you are assisted fully in the timeliest manner possible.
Current Issues
- Source File Corruption: The technical department is working earnestly on resolving the remaining corruption issues. Please keep an eye out for further updates.
- Submission Issues: Steps have already begun to improve the submission process for our print artists. We are streamlining the process to make it less confusing and resolve the remaining bugs.
Resolved Issues
- Under 100 DPI Bug: This bug appears to be caused by using apostrophes in the filename of the print source. Removing apostrophes should resolve this issue should it happen to you during the print submission process. If you find that you are still having difficulties, please submit a Prints Help Request and we will be more than happy to look into the problem further for you.
- Due to a technical error we had several orders last week become delayed. Our technical department is still looking into why this happened, but the orders are being manually reprocessed to the lab, and current orders are coming through correctly.
Hey, Man, I Gotta Suggestion!
Pulled straight from the forums!
The following suggestions are in consideration for implementation:
- Ability to see a print's price history alongside sale statistics for profitability comparisons at different price options.
- Even more detailed statistics across the board for our Print Artists.
- :shop###: capabilities on dAmn
The following suggestions are not currently implementable:
- Signed/Limited Edition Prints: We simply do not have the resources at this time to add a project of this magnitude to the current print revisions. This is something that we are definately keeping on the list for future developments, but a timetable on when it might be reconsidered is currently unavailable.
- Artist Knowledge of Wishlister's Identity: For privacy reasons we cannot send notification to artists when a person wishlists an item. This will not be changing in the forseeable future.
The following suggestions are being actively discussed for implementation:
- Check box style listing of prints on one page (possibly more than one for users who have large numbers of prints) for multiple price updates at once.
- Quality Control and Auto Reject responses listed in the print management section so emails are not lost, and an artist can easily see the results of their uploading efforts all in one place.
- Listing of all order status which include prints from your store.
- Listing of print wishes in the Print Management section for easy review of which pieces are more popular.
- Checkbox for "notify devwatchers of this change" when editing prints.
Thats a Wrap!
