^kkart:iconkkart: reports, 22h 45m ago
CNN Money examines in depth the art site Etsy.com and the struggle it is currently facing to keep it's user base, fellow artist's like us on deviantART. It is a very interesting read, to say the least, and will surely raise a few eyebrows.

Gangs:No Peace Until There Is Peace In Our Streets

*DAPoliticalForum:iconDAPoliticalForum: reports, 2d 18h ago
:star: Gangs in the United States are not a new or recent phenomenon. Their history has been traced back to the post Revolutionary War days and originally they formed as a means of self-protection and as social clubs.

Skills to Survive Life: Part One

=druideye:icondruideye: reports, July 11
Are you depressed? Do you feel like you are a failure? Do you feel empty inside? Do you sometimes end up harming yourself, or punishing yourself in some way? Do you find yourself unable to handle stress sometimes?

This might help. Give it a read, it might change your life. It changed mine.

DENYING THE POVERTY DRAFT-THE SOLDIER AS A SYMBOL

=whitetrashpalace:iconwhitetrashpalace: reports, July 9
The Poverty Draft, Politics, Symbols, and the inconvenience of being human.

Even in times of war, the Soldier as an individual is of no consequence. The Soldier is a symbol, a simple pawn in a culture war. The Soldier is either a villain, or a Hero. The Soldier always serves for the honor of his country, not his paycheck. The Soldier is faithful, as there are 'no atheists in the trenches'. The Soldier is Combat Arms. The Soldier is male, he married a young white girl, and he has a baby on the way, whom he has never met.

The Soldier is a romantic ideal.

The '3D Makes Me...' Contest

`smashmethod:iconsmashmethod: reports, March 13, 2006

The 3d Gallery is proud to announce the "3d Makes Me..." contest!
THE RULES

The rules to this contest are pretty simple. You pick one of the six main emotions (outlined below), and depict it the best way you see fit, using at least one 3D medium. This "at least one 3D medium" means that some portion of your final product must have been generated from a 3D program of your choice. It can be from Bryce, DAZ Studio (free!), 3d Studio Max, Cinema 4D, Rhino... it doesn't matter. Just make sure that there is at least one element in your final product which came from a 3D program (if in the final product it is hard to tell where your 3d element is, please identify it in your description).

The six main emotions you may choose from are: Love, Joy, Anger, Surprise, Sadness, & Fear.

These were chosen as pretty much every emotion you can think of would fall under one of these main six. For example: Happiness = Joy, Rage = Anger, Disappointment = Sadness, etc. Please say in the description of your piece when you submit it which emotion you chose to depict (Love, Joy, Anger, Surprise, Sadness, or Fear). If you choose an emotion outside of those six, it will not be eligible for this contest when it comes time for the judges to vote.
