I am happy to bring you the first digital scenery contest from DeviantArt's history which couldn't have come at a better moment than now, when it's summer and you have plenty of time to work on an image. And because it's summer, the theme of this contest will be no other than to create exotic, gorgeous worlds that will stun your audience.

Wait, you said Digital Scenery? What does that mean?

Shortly put, digital scenery means landscapes or spacescapes (and why not mixtures of both) created with the aid of computer. There is no other media restriction...you can paint, render or even photomanip them. You can even make a mixture of media as long as it's something exotic. Open you favourite program and unleash your imagination!

But how will you judge between Landscapes and Spacescapes? Aren't those different categories?

Aye. And that's why this is a mega contest which actually represents two sub-contests: A landscapes and a spacescapes one. It is up to you to choose where are you going to participate. You can even join them both, but bare in mind that each sub-contest comes with it's own winner and you can't win to both of them.

Sounds cool! So what are prizes?

RULES

1) Submissions must be original artwork and only one image per artist per sub-contest. When you have your image(s) completed, please submit your piece(s) to the contests galleries as follows:
submit-> deviation-> contests-> Exotika --> Landscapes for a Landscape entry
submit-> deviation-> contests-> Exotika --> Spacescapes for a Spacescape entry

2) The submitted image(s) must be NEW, and submitted after this competition has been announced.

3) This is a Digital Scenery competition, hence no other type of art is allowed!

4) The image(s) must be submitted before August 30th which is the deadline of this contest.

5) NO Collabs are allowed. I know you guys are used to working together but this time you should do it yourself.

6) For Terra-Space fans: you can try one if you really wish, but it should be submitted to the Spacescapes category, since the object of focus is, mostly, the space part.

The judges will be judging on the following aspects of your deviation:

- Originality/Creativity
- Exotic, Alien Properties
- Technical Execution
