Fruit, the universal word to most, there has always been fruits eaten and found in all parts of the world. A fruit is the ripened ovary - together with seeds - of a flowering plant. In cuisine, when discussing fruit as a food, people think of the 'plant fruits' that are sweet such as plums, or apples. Fruit can mean many things, vegetables, nuts and grains are the 'fruit' of the plant they come from. Usually an almost slang for the word 'product' in many industries.

There are so many varieties of fruits, many of which we are unaware of, people associate fruits with festivals, celebrations and seasons. Which brings us onto our contest, we are celebrating these wonderful items, and at no better time than the summer! The time which most across the world associate warm, sweet fruits with such as mangoes, pineapples, oranges.

You can celebrate the wonderful world of fruits and in fact the whole Summer! By taking part in this contest - 'The Fruits of the Summer'.




The judges will be picking out their top ten submissions and ordering them 1 to 10. All of these selections will be included in the end article in September.
