The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!

I dont know how everyone else feels on this subject, but to me I was expecting the design and layout to be a bit better in some areas (referring to chat, forums, profile, settings, etc).
Those areas of the site still look or resemble closely to the v4 layout, and I think that it should not be that way. Every area of the site should be redone, the old v4 mixed with the new v5 headers and footers (which are great btw) does not look good in the least bit. Even though the profile page has been changed a tad, the colors arent great, I would suggest that the colors from the news page or the home page should be used globally.
I dont know if the staff is planning on changing these at a later time, or leaving them the same, but I was wondering how everyone else feels on this?
To be honest, I think the opposite about the colours. The ones from user pages, in my opinion, should be used across the site, on deviations and news pages.
The off-white colour's just too hard on the eyes >_<.

As far as I'm aware the old v4 looking parts are those that haven't been upgraded yet, and should look fine with the release of v5.5. I know lots of people have issues with colours and typo for a start, which is why I'm going to pimp this deviation by =mindfuckx: [link] .
I know exactly what you mean. Before I left for a break there were talks of a new scheme. When I saw the intro I was expecting some absolutely mega redone, cool, hard-worked design that would blow us away. It was good, but when I saw v4 popping up everywhere randomly I kind of got confused to whether it was finished or not yet???
This new layout is awful. I was getting ready to renew my sub, but now I don't think I will. The pages are to blocky and fonts are huge. It feels to closed in.
Personality, I'm finding it difficult to nav and search through the site. The font and whiteness makes everything appear unwelcoming (I had a few friends who only recently saw the site and too, found it unwelcoming. Sort of "too big" to be a community site).
If v5 was some mega blow-up version where -everything- was completely different, I'd have considered whether it was for me or not, changing every year. It seems overpowering to me. o_o

Most of my dissapointments come from the redesign of the front page. I really liked the columnar layour, with my daily deviations showing one-by-one, a shoutboard, and news down.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!

Relax, I'm a professional
It is my understanding that all those areas are being saved for v5.5. So they are going to be updated, just not this moment.
Hope that helps.
