Adobe PhotoShop CS3

¢elusive:iconelusive: reports, August 12, 2006
With such a large user base of Adobe PhotoShop fanatics in the world (and right here in deviantART), why not share a little bit of information for those of you who havn't heard the latest on your favourite application.

Adobe PhotoShop CS3, which is set for an apparent release for Q2 of 2007, will have a few new features you may be interested in. This time around it'll be shipping in two seperate versions: Standard, and Premium. The difference? Extra applications and abilities, of course - not to mention the price.

Some of the most impressive news about CS3 will be major changes to the non-destructive elements of PhotoShop, allowing for easier image manipulations and control, as well as Camera RAW 4, and a rumoured interface-overhaul as well.

On top of this, tools such as rulers and other techniques for measuring will be introduced, and changes to the perspective engine will also be introduced. One of the things i've read that bothers me slightly is that there is a chance features that are available in CS2 already may be moved exclusively to the CS3 Premium package, and will not be available in CS3 Standard, which begs the question is it really worth it to upgrade to CS3 after all?

I guess we will all find out in 2007 if the new PhotoShop is another evolution in graphic design software, or just another brick in the wall of the ever-growing changes to the Adobe software suite.

They're probably struggling for innovation at Adobe. Photoshop was pretty much perfect at version 5.5.

If they make CS2 tools CS3 Premium exclusive then I'll be more than likely looking for new Photoshop alternatives. These guys are making a killing by releaseing Photoshop every two years with minimal improvements.

Cheers for informing :) I expect I'll be sticking to CS2 unless CS3 has something incredibly special
