My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations.
Artists need to be supported.
So don't be shy!
Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not.
Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough
And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs!

reports, August 12, 2006As a recent addition to the deviantART repertoire of coolness gone bad, the New News has gone from wonderful new application, to abused tool. With the ability to spontaneously
submit news like I am going to, the news page has been flooded with a few main categories of news topics:
1. Oh give me page views!
2. I don't know what to write here
3. dAv5 SUX!!!!!!!!!!
4.Random news articles about random things(like mine)
5. Actual news like contests and stuff
Despite Lolly's pleas for us dA members to be mature about it and not post things that fit into the first 3 categories...at least
, people continuously flood the news page with articles like 'Come check out my new art!' or 'Hey, I got an urgent announcement - Nothing!'
.
So what do we do? How can we stop the horrible influx of absolutely obsolete and stupid articles?
Well, I propose...no not really
Anyway, I propose that perhaps dA could have separate sections for different types of news...on the news page itself...like they used to have. Then we could possible sift out the vagrants more easily
But not too many categories, just maybe contests, Administrative, Features, Random stuff Yes, perhaps perhaps perhaps!
