Anyone who’s into web design knows ~Kwaku and if you don’t, you’re going to meet him now. Being among the most talented of web designers on dA, ~Kwaku is recognized for his clean, trendy, 2D style of designs.

With that said, we’ve asked ~Kwaku to enlighten us about his ‘day in the life’ as a creative.


Hi, my name is Chris. Some of You know me as Kwaku You probably aren't interested in my schedule, but I was pleased to write it.

I get up early, if I'm going to school, the first words which come out of my mouth are: “Jesus Christ, not again.” I eat breakfast, catch my bus and going to school. Some lessons are extremely boring, so I'll draw some logotypes / layouts at the back of my notebook. Some good ideas come right at that moment, 5 of 9 hours of boredom are quite a lot.

After school (4 or 5 pm) I'll eat my dinner, and then I'll go out with my friends. Mostly, we play football, but some cycling is okay as well. When I get back, I look at the clock and it is 7-8 pm, or something' like that. Then, I have to study, or I have drawing' lessons (2 hours) or I'll be practicing. When I'm finally at home again, I launch my PC, check emails / deviantART profile and I get to work. It could be troublesome without a good concept and idea. Without that, you can sit on the chair whole night and do nothing. But, You shouldn't give up quickly, cause it could be any one moment, that one moment of enlightenment. I spend, on average, 6-8 hours on one design, but bigger layouts need more time, anything up to a few days sometimes. Designing can be addictive. You know, when you start doing' your layout, it's 9 pm, but when you're finishing up it is actually 4 am – not good. You are sleepy for the rest of next day.

The weekends, in my case, are salvation. More free time = more time to rest and to design. When I have finished my layout, I have an aversion to CPU. It's a little like polish vodka, tonight you can drink it, tomorrow you can't even look at it . A lot people ask me about inspiration, so what can I say? Take it from nature and the real world or just trust your imagination, it is unpredictable. Thanks a lot for your time and have a nice holiday!
