Welcome to the third installment of our weekly newsletter, One thing that has occured that is majorly huge is the number of players involved in this months Kidney Game. This week we're up to over 630 players. And nearly 4,000 kidneys have been donated.

Did I tell you I knew Steve Irwin??

reports, September 6, 2006Okay well I didn't know Steve directly but I knew his wife Terri...
Terri and I lived about an hour from each other....
She told me about Steve when she met him in the early 90's...
She was so excited...
He was so over the top...
"Out of bounds" as she said...
And she was in love...
For the first time and the last time...
The family that they were was unbelievable...
They did everything together...
Like a family should...
I knew about his death within minutes after it happened...
But didn't know how to handle it or talk about it...
I told my roommate...
and he didn't believe me...
He is from Hong Kong and he knew who Steve Irwin was...
It took me a while to even absorb this...
I have been watching him on the Tele for a long time...
I know his wife.... and my heart goes out to her....
His children already know and will understand...
I shed my tears....
I don't know what else to do...
for Terri
for bindi sue and baby bob
for everyone else who is pained by this...
we can control our lives....
but in the end our deaths control us...
