** Update December 05,2006 - The deviation Management tool has been renamed to "devMobile Management", to help ease the confusion felt by users in the past.
Welcome to the second installment of "Hey Hexe", a bi-monthly, super-duper, deviantART how to. This time around our focus is: What is the difference between the Deviation Management page and the Deviation Storage Tool?
Now let's get started!
Deviation Management:
The "Deviation Managment" page can be located by visiting your User Page and clicking on the link entitled 'Edit Profile'. Once on this page click on the 'Deviation Management' tab.
This page allows you to activate and deactivate your artwork from the deviantMOBILE Service.
How to use the Deviation Management Tool:
All of your available deviations are listed below on the Deviation Management page. You need to simply click on a piece of art to activate or deactivate it. It works just like a light switch, from on to off and from off to on.
Once set active, your piece of art will be available to the world on mobile phones and much more as we continue to add devices to the list.
Understand that by setting each piece of artwork to an active status, you are providing deviantART with permission to make available and distribute the selected piece of art to any user, on any screen.
This Tool will not hide or un-hide deviations from your gallery, for this you will want to use the Deviation Storage Tool (See Below).
------
Deviation Storage:
The Deviation Storage Tool is part of the gallery
management tool set that allows you more control over your gallery. It enables you to decide what should be displayed in your gallery without having to delete or resubmit items. You simply put the items you do not want to display in your gallery into "storage". These items will then no longer be displayed on the site, and will not be accessable to anyone but you.
To access the Deviation Storage Tool, go to your message centre, and click on the messages tab. Once there on the right hand column you will find the "
Manage My Gallery" link, click on this and it will take you to your storage tools page from there click on the
Deviation Storage link and you will be presented with the Deviation Storage Tool page.

I remember that when the new version of dA went live, deviations that were hidden in storage prior to the switchover wound up missing.
