This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. We choose photomanipulations that have made an impression on us from the past week. We do not base our choices on preference or friendships and we have never featured ourselves. We simply pick photomanipulations showing creativity, technique and quality at the same time, and are simply eye-catching. As we are also stock artists, we will only feature the works that give proper credits to stock artists.

ArtRage 3 is finally released! ArtRage is an amazing painting program that acts a LOT like real paint! and the newest version is finally out - and this one has watercolours. And stickers (custom brushes) and is extremely fun and easy to use... and did I mention that the most expensive version is only $80?
Thanks for taking a look at some of the fractals that were posted in the past thirty days. Artists keep pushing the boundaries, creating new and exciting images from the world of mathematical art. Check the fractal gallery for even more great art from this medium.
It's true that maths are the foundation of what we are doing. I have myself a scientific formation and love maths, but I wouldn't like people to think that making fractals is just picking and random formula and pushing a button (these precisions are obviously not for you Jeff , but for non-fractalists who are reading this article).
These mathematical beauties are most of the time very well hidden, sometimes in the most unexpected places, and you have to find them. This may be a very long research process.
Then, you have to reveal them, choosing the right light, colors, framing, etc, and that's the artistic part, which is often even longer than the research part.
That's what I like in fractals: this unique combination of research and artistic activities. And there is one thing I'm sure of... this takes a lot of time!
