Artistic Nudes - A study by Fahd A. Paracha

=fahap:iconfahap: reports, 2d 8h ago
Depictions of nudity refers to nudity in all the artistic disciplines including vernacular and historical depictions. Nudity in art has generally conformed — with some variation — to social standards for public nudity; in cultures where nudity was accepted, nude figures in painting and sculpture were as well.

deviantART's Mature Content Hypocrisy

*sephys-little-cloud:iconsephys-little-cloud: reports, 2d 20m ago
Why does the deviantART staff refuse to enforce their own rules sometimes? When it comes to prohibited content such as pornography and underage nudity, why do they let some obscene material stay up, while innocent deviations get deleted?

deviantART CEA; FAQ #565 and Policy Interpretation

=exsecror:iconexsecror: reports, 21h 9m ago
The purpose or rather intent of this news article is to address the increasing concerns by many deviantART members (including myself) as to the recent results from the new Policy Violation Reporting System and the deviantART Copyright Etiquette and Administration (CEA) team. I should stress that this is not meant as an attack or attempt to defame what the CEA team does. They do a fantastic job at making sure that deviantART is clean but rather it addresses a serious concern about interpretations of two FAQs, namely #565 and their compliance with United States Code Statutes.

To 2030 and beyond!

~GFXPunk:iconGFXPunk: reports, Sep 23, 2006
First off before reading this article, I suggest you read `londonxpress's Open Letter to $spyed.

Now whilst I appreciate that *BT011010 may well be a well known artist in the music industry and all that, however he is still just that: an artist, just like you or me. And I, like many others, think that he should be thus treated no better than anyone else here on deviantART until he has proved his worth.

Before anyone makes any rash accusations I think I should probably first say that I am not making attack against *BT011010 in any way - I don't know who gave him the status to use CSS in his journal, whether he asked for it or not and that is an internal affair for deviantART to deal with.

What I am doing is making a statement for all those who believe that deviantART should remain fair to everyone and ask that until BT has proved his worth as a community member he shouldn't be given the ability to use the CSS style in his journal.

I do not know whether this News article will go heeded by the admins or not, and thus I have decided that an alternative approach is required.

So, I have bought `londonxpress a 3 month subscription. The aim is to get him subscribed until 2030 - just like BT!

Hopefully, in the name of fairness in this community, if `londonxpress reaches 2030 as his 'subscribed until' date deviantART will award him CSS in his journal as well and perhaps even give him his senior status back.

And I now leave you with the ever cheesy line : "Let's make it happen!"

For those who saw it, I got a little mixed up the first time around with my news letter I'm now going to try again. So, with all needed ammendments I give you... pretty much what I wrote before.

Hi Josh - thank you for your thoughts on the issue (and of course your generosity - that hasn't gone unnoticed), but please don't worry with the subscriptions - that is too much and I would rather not have that bestowed upon me. The best thing that anyone can do at this point in time is contact $spyed directly with their concerns. The more that people speak out and talk about the issue the better

Sincerely,
Evan

I agree. Picking favorites just because BT is a more well known artist than a random person on dA doesn't mean he deserves the sub or the CSS in his journal. But then again, who knows if it is really him. It could just be more advertising, like what Angelo did in his journal about BT's new album. BT could be paying dA to post this stuff, as a pathetic form of advertising. The full page ads and the page directing I hear about doesn't seem to be good enough to him, so he has to go and make an account to get more advertising, and the uprising of everyone on dA (who is not a n00b) is just a messy side effect. Although, this is just my opinion. The adding of the Mood crap that takes up nearly half of the comment box didn't do so well either. Seems like Angelo doesn't know how a corporation works. The main priority should be to keep the users happy so that they continue to pour money into subs and prints, not to anger everyone into hating the staff and wanting to leave and/or no longer spend any of their hard earned money on dA. Personally, I might do the same. As a college student I don't even have enough money to pay the bills half the time. So maybe I should stop buying prints and subs for myself and friends until "someone" stops thinking about profits and more about the people.

Sorry for the rant, needed to get it all out. =p

This site is a business and businesses aren't democracies. They are dictatorships.
