Introversion Software's upcoming game DEFCON is inspired by the 1983 film Wargames. In it, a computer plays a game called Global Thermonuclear War. DEFCON is that game.
Therefore, in celebration of its impending release, Introversion and Game Overdrive are holding a contest that may interest some deviants: show us nuclear winter.
The task is simple: take an image as your backdrop and turn it into nuclear winter. This can be a well-known work of art, a photo, or even an image you create specifically for the contest (as long as the image itself is seperate from the final entry).
From the official guidelines:
"* You may edit (or create) any piece of art to be used as a backdrop for your nuclear winter landscape. As we believe this contest is parodical, we do not see any qualms with copyright. If, however, the copyright holder of the original art piece feels offended, we will have to remove your entry.
* You may use any art form to edit the piece, whether it is digital, traditional, or any other form. Do not feel limited.
* You must, however, simulate a nuclear winter, whether realistically or humourously.
* You may not use an already-created image; you MUST create the nuclear winter yourself.
* You must also include the original piece of art, with proper credits.
* You may only submit one entry."
Three winners will receive a free copy of DEFCON.

Contractions make the apostrophe seem so much more philanthropic, as it uses its efforts to unite rather than to hoard.
