With the holidays at hand, this can be a stressful time of the year. Everyone is busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. But do take a moment to check out these relevent glimpses into the future.
Murk will teach you how to be horrible. But in like, an empowering kind of way, that de-rails in to all sorts of tagental thoughts about the shifting morality of man in the urban age. And maybe what kind of cheese is good on crackers.
Most people would kill to know what their future holds. Fortunately, you don't have go quite that far. Consult these 'scopes and use this knowledge wisely. This is the straight dope. Honest. It took me something like 20 whole minutes to write this shit.
My views are yes, its turning into Myspace, and i don't like it! Now deviantART is getting crowed with 'myspace style' pictures taken in mirrors with low priced cameras, sometimes this can be seen as art but not in these cases. Is a 'Myspace' category needed in the photography section?
Only making these features available for subscribers and senior members is at least one thing stopping myspace members from migrating to deviantART but is this just a devious ploy to get deviantART more money?
I want to see what you guys think of the recent changes and how you think this will effect deviantART as a 'art' community. Baring the word 'art' in mind.
I've never looked at Myspace before now and to be honest I dont see how it can be compared to DA in any way as an art community. Yes its a community but nothing like DA.
CSS or no CSS there is always the chance for DA to be turned into a community like Myspace - but not yet and I dont think it would really be allowed to get to that stage.
I just see it the new abillity of css for those subs as more fun to add life for our journals.
I think people read far too much into the new changes here. At the end of the DA the technology for DA to be here costs money and it has to be paid for somehow and if CSS is going to add to more subscribers (and it doesnt get abused) then why not allow it.
I think part of what this issue is getting at (and what you mentioned) is the possibility of a surge of people coming to this site who don't really have any interest in Art, learning about it, or helping others with it. I don't know that dA would actually get to that point, but statements like yours kind of make me nervous ^_^;;;. Basically you're saying that you choose the quantity of people over quality of their intentions regarding Art?
I like to just say that: a, this isn't news but a personal opinion that is better suited for a journal or a forum post; b, there has always been low quality camera shots of people on devART, doesn't make it a myspace; and finally c, the issues of CSS because, to put it short and sweet, the community was upset at the staff for playing favorites.
Now when you can custom your whole page in CSS and add music then I think this will be news...
I saw alot of those 'myspace' pic here.
Everybody can make a photo,
off themself in the mirror, but that doesnt make it an art.
Of corse the opinions on what is art and what not are different.
But people should draw a line between myspace and deviantart.
Next thing you know people are 'whore my pic bitch' around here.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
