Everyone thinks the best artists on DeviantArt are the ones with all the pageviews, but sometimes you find true art is the most unusual places. For those of you who don’t have time to search the nooks and crannies of DeviantArt, this article is here to shine the spotlight on two deserving people each month, with a few of my favorite thumbnails.

Vengeful-Lilth doesn’t skimp on the details, but the result is fun and full of character. Her shading is enough to argue that black and white are colors, while her color pieces are vibrant and clean. Make sure you look at her scraps to see how much she’s progressed.

Three Thumbs



Ancient
Curved and flowing, what could have been a sketch becomes a work of art through sheer emotion. The face itself is as expressive as an entire picture.



Light on the Sun
A bright and rich picture with many layers that create one picture that shines above the rest.



A Fluffy Jacket
Is just what the title says, and then some. Proves you can be both fashionable and functionable.

And now for something totally different! Shivalet is abstract art with a bizarre sense of humor that has to be seen to be believed. Funky and funny is the new peanut butter and jelly.

Bespectacled octopus? Check. Huge schnoz? Check. Would make a kickass band shirt? Absolutely.

Foreign languages make everything so much cooler.

If you think you or somebody you know deserves to be featured, you need to first make sure they have less than 3,000 pageviews. You can be any kind of artist to be featured, but be advised that my tastes lean towards cartoons and anime, so it’s a little unlikely that I’ll single you out myself if you are, say, a haiku writer.
