=karemelancholia:iconkaremelancholia: reports, May 8
Now it's time for the April 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!

:pointr: Run by =karemelancholia since 1 year & 4 monthes.

Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it!
Fave Fave Fave!
My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations.
Artists need to be supported.
So don't be shy!

:pointr: You can see the previous features here, in the Index i've created!

Here's the Menu per Category :

Digital Paintings & Drawings | Mixed Media | PhotoManipulations | 3-Dimensional | Vector & Vexels | Traditional Paintings & Drawings | Photography | Artisan Crafts

Traditional Tech News#1

*lowtech-artists:iconlowtech-artists: reports, Oct 1, 2006
Welcome to Lowtech
08.2006 Issue
Wake up, September's over!Bad pun we know-if you remember that song-, But it's October 1st, school's well under way for some of us, the corner stores all stocked up on Halloween goodies and that it's high time for the Lowtech Monthly-recap Newsletter.

If any of you don't know what Lowtech is: It's a club that features the traditional artists of dA with contests art prompts and even a tutorial accounts for those stuck in a rut. Traditional art isn't just pen and paper. We accept anything you can do without a computer, that means writing, film photography, and artisan crafts as well. So far most of our members are the pen and paper type, but who's complaining? You don't have to be a member to participate in our contests, or to take a look around our gallery.

We're glad to meet new people and check out whats going on around the galleries (the browse button is our best friend). If you have anything you think is important about hte traditional art scene you want to tell us, just send a note.

Headlines
:bulletblue:Traditional Art has been getting alot more attention lately, and the gallery has become even more amazing. At any give time you can click the browse button and see an amazing traditional work that makes you check twice to make sure its not a photo. Lowtech has been lucky to gain a few new artists that are truly above and beyond. This month's feature Artist is *pens-n-feathers and her amazing The Window

:bulletblue: Feeling a little uninspired? Want your work featured in our journal? Check out our Art Prompt List. Its small now, but as the ideas come in, the possibilities are endess. These Themes are available to all sorts of artists, including writers, and photographers. Feel free to sample our ideas or send in your own. To view the themes, click here

:bulletblue: Everyone can learn something new. Check out the Lowtech Tutorial of the Month

Featured Thumbs
Check out some of our great Portrait and Still Life artists.
A featured work by our featured artist. This is a portrait of a simple house in Grasse done in only pen with amazing detail. Its like an outline of a photo.*pens-n-feathers
You thought this was a photo didn't you? This was done with only the basic color pencil set, no skin tones used. This artist has a great gift for manipulating the color scale.~Lury
A sweet rose taken from a stock. This artist manipulated it to remove the water drops. The attention to shading and detail makes the rose seem as velvety as it would in a photo.~hawkke
These are not the original pieces.

Upcoming Contest
Its October! You know what that means, Halloween! Dress up like ghouls, bother the neighbors and gorge yourselves on candy till you puke sugar! This month's contest is all about halloween spirit. Any art submitted with halloween or october and fall related themes will be featured in teh Lowtechjournal for the duration of the month. The weekly art prompts will all be about Halloween or Octoberfest as well(except for friday the 13th). To learn more about this and other contests visit our contest journal.

A Word From the Admin
Thanks every one for your continual support of Lowtech! We've grown well past 100+ members, and if you've stopped by the gallery us you've seen some amazing works. I'm sorry to say This will be the only newsletter circuited right now because of the lack of activity in our other two galleries. Next month during our Halloween Special hopefully more artists can be featured.

Have a squeet day!
