Welcome to Lowtech
08.2006 Issue
Wake up, September's over!Bad pun we know-if you remember that song-, But it's October 1st, school's well under way for some of us, the corner stores all stocked up on Halloween goodies and that it's high time for the Lowtech Monthly-recap Newsletter.
If any of you don't know what Lowtech is: It's a club that features the traditional artists of dA with contests art prompts and even a tutorial accounts for those stuck in a rut. Traditional art isn't just pen and paper. We accept anything you can do without a computer, that means writing, film photography, and artisan crafts as well. So far most of our members are the pen and paper type, but who's complaining? You don't have to be a member to participate in our contests, or to take a look around our gallery.
We're glad to meet new people and check out whats going on around the galleries (the browse button is our best friend). If you have anything you think is important about hte traditional art scene you want to tell us, just send a note.

pens-n-feathers

You thought this was a photo didn't you? This was done with only the basic color pencil set, no skin tones used. This artist has a great gift for manipulating the color scale.~
Lury

A sweet rose taken from a stock. This artist manipulated it to remove the water drops. The attention to shading and detail makes the rose seem as velvety as it would in a photo.~

A Word From the Admin
Thanks every one for your continual support of Lowtech! We've grown well past 100+ members, and if you've stopped by the gallery us you've seen some amazing works. I'm sorry to say This will be the only newsletter circuited right now because of the lack of activity in our other two galleries. Next month during our Halloween Special hopefully more artists can be featured.
