Sometimes, a good work of art is not just "good" because of its aesthetical sense. Sometimes we need something else. And here concepts, ideas and thoughs enter to the game. We need to give some food to our brains, don't we? A work that can make you think until you discover its real meaning (or you find your own) is indeed a better way of representation in this chaotic and ever-evolving world of art.

Concepts in art are not anything new. Since the first realistic paintings, painters always tried to put a clear concept to make their work understandable to a concrete kind of people. For example, religious paintings since Paleochristians always had a serial of icons that made the people of that period understand and get the story behind the pieces.

Nowadays, art is more diverse, and concepts are harder to understand. The minds of the artists now live in a modern era, and changes happen.

Many artistic theories have related the use of concepts as being even more important than the work itself. That is, the way the artists represent the idea that is in his/her mind, and how easy or hard for people is to understand it.
