You've seen them around. All sorts of things.

A child's ball sitting curbside. Vines crawling up a pipe on a wall. A lost pair of glasses, hanging from a phonepole just waiting to be found...

Or have you?

I was approached by a deviant just recently who wished that she could "see" things the way I do. This puzzled me, because seeing is as easy as opening your eyes. Perhaps it's easy for me to say, because I've been taking photos for awhile now... but it's how I learned.

While a lost pair of glasses isn't that hugely exciting, explosive photo that you occasionally see pop up here on dA, it IS a slice of life.

It makes you think about who possibly owned those glasses, how they became lost... and if they are yearning for their return. There is an extraordinary story in the ordinary shot.

The challenge to yourself, as a photographer, is to keep your camera with you... and keep your eyes open. This is a good exercise for all experience levels, but particularly for the beginniner who is seeking great things to photograph. Walk the streets... it's all out there for you!

Seek the extraordinary within the ordinary... and share stories with everyone.
