`SparrowSong on writing, critique and her passions

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

Angsty Literature Club

*Matadi:iconMatadi: reports, 2d 21h ago
Since there is not much we are afraid of in the days of speeding optic cables, no need to talk sincerely since we do wear the egoist, shiny mantle of a digital avatar, why there is still "love" the most search after word on dA? We do have the need to touch and be touched,to smile, not often even cry, we are thirsty of eachothers footsteps in the sacred place called emotion.Living to tell we are so fragile, living to tell we are so strong, living to tell...

Take a rest, from time to time, step back and look around you,
catch what you see in a word.
what will it be?

National Novel Writing Month

`lazybutt:iconlazybutt: reports, October 20, 2006
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has been around since 1999, and has brought the attention of thousands. Last year alone, there were over 59,000 participants with almost 10,000 of those passing the 50k word count!

This year will be no different. You will be asked to create a 75-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30th. Sign-up began October 1st, so you still have a couple weeks to get started. You will need to begin writing Novermber 1st, and in order to be added to the official list of winners, you must reach the 50,000-word mark by November 30th at midnight. That is also the day that NaNoWriMo ends.

Heh, I was trying to get a news article written about this (just because I've written one or two (one before and one after) for DA every year since 2003, but I just didn't have the energy. Great that someone took care of it.

I've always wished I could participate in NaNo, had I known about it like five years ago I could have easily done it. Good luck to everyone who's attempting the writers' marathon.

There's no way I could finish that in time, sorry to say...
unless I started now for next year... hmm...
