Who are we?

We are the new Manga/Anime Gallery Directors.

^aeterne vel Anako, but my real name’s Daria. I’m a student of an art faculty in the Polish-Japanese College of Computer Technology in Warsaw (Poland). I hope to go for classical animation in the future.
I’m very glad that I could become a Gallery Director. I want to make Manga/Anime gallery tidy and better, day by day.
What I would like to improve in this little dA world, is to show people the other side of manga/anime style. The side of art. Because big eyes, kawaii-looking-girls and pink colours don’t make the picture great deviation! What’s the most important are the values of art – composition, quality, effort an artist put into the picture, their skills, and, of course, the subject. Manga and Anime are also art!
So if your picture is drawn in this style, don’t be afraid of putting it into Manga/Anime category! Be proud that you managed to create something that is both technically and thematically great. Believe in yourself.

^guruubii Aka, Jayleen I am an animator, from Vancouver (Canada). I attended Vancouver Film School for Classical animation, and comic book production.
I’m very excited to be one of the new Gallery Directors for Manga/Anime. I’m hoping to help make it a clean and productive place to be.
One thing I would like to impress upon you all is what Scraps are for. ‘Scraps’ are not a bad thing! Its like a Scrapbook, just full of the drawings, sketches and concept art for your work which ideally when finished, becomes a polished Deviation. Please make sure to crop out the spiral bindings when you scan or photograph your art work, and also resize it to a useable size. I think 800 width is probably a good size. If you want to show people some details, upload a separate deviation with close ups of key sections. It helps people on slow connections and more importantly, displays your art in a more professional looking, and appealing manner which will lead to more watchers and more comments!

Since both of us have just become the Gallery Directors, we’re getting very few DD/artists suggestions. Then we ask you to send us as many as you can! We’re sure that everyday you see a lot of people who deserve to be known among DA world. Hurry up and suggest them to us! But before doing so, read our DD guidelines carefully to avoid any blunders.
And please, suggest us works only from Manga/Anime gallery! When the deviation is, for example, in Traditional Art category, it can be featured only by its Gallery Director, even if it’s in manga/anime style. Keep that in mind.
