Hey, everyone!
`
bellchild here, and I apologize for the delay. Completely my fault, and at the same time

completely out of my hands. Anyway, we're back, with one or two surprises
First of all, `
bananaprincess is going to be taking over the literature category, and I'm thrilled to be having her help out in this. She's been one hell of a force for the news and, from what I can see, from literature as well. Secondly, with a little bit of input, we've decided to go into a more selective process. And I'm taking my hands off the other guys' selections a bit, too! Each of us is getting a group of categories to write up on, and we each get pretty free reign over those categories. We're going to keep delivering what the news has to offer, but we're going to cut back and give you the best instead of
everything... Get what I mean? And this will likely remain a monthly feature, especially with some of us being in school and drained on time!
Please, keep in mind when you submit your news to submit it to the proper categories. It's easy for us to miss really good articles if we're looking for only articles relevant to our particular categories. And note that because of our layout, it's easy for more than one person to hit an article. That's not a major issue;
missing an article is, though!
Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and stop typing here, you'll get enough of that in my selections

So let's get on with the news!
If you're looking for a specific category, I'm going to make it a bit easier and give you a 'table of contents' to help you skim through:

done: translate the FAQ into other widely used languages on deviantART in an understandable (as in, not automated) way. *

Editorials
I admit, the opinion/editorial columns are probably my favorite thing about a newspaper. They can cover any subject matter you could ever possibly think of, and when they're done right can be informative, interesting, and spark good discussion or debate. They sometimes present wonderful ideas for change, sometimes go in depth on a topic you may know little about, and sometimes just serve to present an opinion. The best ones are well-thought and interesting. That's what I aim to present to you here! I would also like to note that in this section, I will not feature articles fully written by an outside source.
Editorial: v5 News
`
bananaprincess is a regular name around dA's news, including (but not limited to!) the literature scene. She's very active, helpful, and she knows what she's talking about, which is an excellent first step for a good editorial. Definitely worth checking out if you're interested at all in the progression of the News and have some input yourself.
Let's take a look at RAW quality
I may be stepping on =
Nex9k9's category toes here by tossing this here, heh, but this definitely deserves mention. A fairly short, but very informative article about shooting RAW and some of the programs used to process RAW on your computer. In case you didn't know, RAW is a bit of a well-known secret amongst digital photographers, allowing greater control over certain aspects like white balance. Very nice article.

Photography
Going through a months selection of photography articles was not an easy task this time around. Now that we're looking for the cream of the crop as far as articles go I've had to make difficult decisions regarding what goes through and what doesn't. Here's an example:
The Select10n : The Artist has some beautiful thumbs of some excellent photography. I +hearted it.. But, on the other hand, I'm forced to look at it's faults. No description of what the article is about, no telling us for what reasons they got picked, no critique in the article itself. It's just ten thumbs. So I had to let it go. Looks like this is one of the many tough decisions I have to make decisions about from now on.On the other hand some are articles of excellence! I didn't have to think twice about featuring
Lust, love and learn!. Just take a look and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Animals, Plants & Nature 2 - Second article in the series showing us the beauty of nature.
Animals, Plants & Nature 3 - Want more?
Animals, Plants & Nature 4 - And more still!
Animals, Plants & Nature 5 - It's yet another one! D:

Darkroom Photography - Edition 2 - Also with some great darkroom links.
Darkroom Photography - Edition 3 - Even more!
B&W Photos Of This Week VOL_3.0 - I almost didn't feature this because of the lack of words in this article. But, the thumbs within are trully amazing and the article title says it all.
B&W Photos Of This Week VOL_4.0 - And a little more!
B&W Photos Of This Week VOL_2.0 - In my opinion, no words are needed in this thumbilicious article.
O.M.G.W.T.F.H.D.R.B.B.Q. #1 - Do not be fooled! This is not your tyical n00bish post as the title may indicate.. Get educated about HDR photography!
O.M.G.W.T.F.H.D.R.B.B.Q. #2 - And more!
Fashion Week 01 - The world of fashion isn't my thing really. But when it mixes with the world of photography you find you simply can't help but look.

Revolutionary single pixel camera - Is more trully better when it comes to megapixels in your shot? Possibly not..
Nikon Firmware Update for D200, D2X, and D2H - Yet more firmware updates for your Nikon cameras. Good or Bad?
Lust, love and learn! - Lusting after anything photography? This article includes lots of unknown photography thumbs, tutorials, tutorial sites and other photography groups. Well worth a look!

cambridgeincolour.com - Informing the photographic community of a website for photographers. Simple as that!
Language and Photography - One deviants interesting theory on why we use the photographic language we do.
Seek the Extraordinary Within the Ordinary... - I wouldn't feature this normally but what caught my eye with this is how it didn't fail to inspire me as I was reading it. I think all photographers need a little inspiration once in a while, don't you?
Insects and Spiders: September - More amazing creepy crawlie photography in this series of articles.
Wings and ability to fly ! - Ok.. Maybe I'm slightly biased with this one. I happen to love wings so it's got to go in. Enjoy this thumb filled article.
Fashion Week 01 - The world of fashion isn't my thing really. But when it mixes with the world of photography you find you simply can't help but look.
