This is a series of interviews with some of Deviant Art's Fetish and Glamour community. The interviews will be with both photographers and models so that we can gain a better understanding into the world of these wonderful genres from both sides of the lens.

Do you remember picking up your first camera or the first shot you took?

I knew tons about lighting, but I didn’t know anything else, I guess I could classify my first picture to be a really well-lit “myspace” photo.



Did you study art or commercial photography?

I went to film school in Boston, after I graduated, I helped out on Oprah for a few years, I took a lighting course, and applied to work for some magazines, I was always learning from some of the world's most famous superstar photographers.



What equipment do you prefer to shoot with when working commercially? What lighting set ups do you use?

Canon everything, my lighting setups are different on the mood, and project.

Do you work with an assistant?

Yes I do.

Any old classic favourite cameras when shooting your own thing?

My Canon D60 & 20D, can’t live without them.



You obviously have a flair for glamour photography, what got you into this genre?

I was peer pressured into glamour/fetish/artistic nude by Annaliese. (of GodsGirls.com)

How did it come about that you shoot for Godsgirls?

Annaliese demanded I shoot for her company.



Your contributions to godsgirls seems to dominate your gallery, are the girls fun to work with?

All of them are a pleasure to work with, they are so cool, some of the best people I’ve met.



Do you direct much during a shoot, or let the girls do their own thang? Describe a typical glamour shoot with you. How do you find your locations? Do you come up with the ideas or is it a collaboration?

I usually make everything up on the way, I start from a basic idea, and liven it up a bit, I’m really bad at organizing things, I try to make everyone as natural as possible when I shoot them.

My locations are very random, and out of the ordinary, and I try not to recycle any ideas from previous photo shoots...

Christine Kessler (*steeneeweenee) is one of the top fetish photographers out there and one of my personal favourites, do you ever cross paths shooting for GG or is it all quite separate? If so, what is a shoot with her like?

I really wish I could shoot with her, we’re usually separated most of the time… off doing our own things, we try to keep in touch a lot.

Obviously you shoot a lot of women, any plans to shoot any guys in the near future?

I am making a book of Female and Male nudes, men are usually a challenge to shoot, but I like the challenge.



It seems the majority of your work is colour, what is it about shooting colour that appeals to your senses?

I’m try to balance out Colour with B&W, I love both, and have no preference.



You’ve worked with a few famous faces. Anyone stand out or any interesting stories to share with us? Surely working with Jeffree Star would have been a riot.

Jeffree and I are pretty close, if he needs me for a shoot, I’ll shoot him, he’s a great guy.



Do you have any advice for aspiring glamour photographers?

Always study your environment and other artist’s photos, find out why they intentionally put things in a picture.

Do you have any favourite shots in your gallery? Any particular stories behind them?

Veronica’s ‘Lady Bug’ set. She’s always so CUTE, like all the time. She wanted candy, and I would let her have any.
