Hope you had an awesome friday.
The rules of *
fotoFRIDAY are simple: write a poem or story about the given picture. It can be inspired from the photo, about it, or an element from it. There are is no line minimum or maximum: just think of this as a weekly 'prompt' to get yourself inspired. The contest itself can be found every friday on my journal, so be sure to take a peek and give it a try.

News
Before I showcase the writing this week, I'd like to talk about some points of interest with *
fotoFRIDAY.

First of all,
thank you deviantART staff for the recognition! Hopefully the Deviousness award will help push the boundaries of fotoFRIDAY and expand its writer base.

On that note, there have been some changes to fotoFRIDAY. The deadline for all following fotoFRIDAY entries has been increased from Sunday to Wednesday to give people more time to submit their entries.

Keep an eye open for the fotoFRIDAY chat. Since fotoFRIDAY helps produce rough pieces and makes the first step to inspire, the chat will function as a place for discussion and critique to improve those pieces. It will be opening next friday, so keep a look out.

Starting with this news article, I will begin highlighting one or two pieces from the entries received. This number might increase or decrease depending on how many entries are received.
Now enough of news, let's get to the writing!

fotoFRIDAY began thirteen weeks ago as an entirely poetic affair with no prose involved; considering it's only been expanded in recent weeks, it was fantastic to see such an influx of prose.
Fog is listed as a 'perspectives' piece, but I also think it falls under the category of macabre and horror as well; it has a wonderful, visual feel and an interesting concept for a very surreal photo. Kudos and welcome to fotoFRIDAY, *

Intuition offers another very original take on ~
Lenw's photo. With its sharp sensory imagery and strong vocabulary, it's an excellent example of where a simple prompt can take you if you stop a moment to consider it.
