IMPAC Longlist Announced

reports, November 15, 2006The longlist for the 2007 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, the world's richest literary prize, has been announced. Nominations for the 138-name list came in from 169 libraries from 129 cities in 49 countries. The list includes names like Salman Rushdie, JM Coetzee, Margret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Joyce Carol Oates, and -- my personal favourite -- Neil Gaiman.
The shortlist will be released on April 4 next year, while the winner, and recipient of the €100,000 prize, will be announced on June 4.
