In my opinion, there is a mix up of wording here, in the majority of society it is the christianity, more so that of the catholic faith that has the problem with homosexuality, and not visa versa...
however, the opinion i hold is...
that when gay people reject christianity,( or retaliate/react to it) its not done out of cold hate. Its because of two central things:
1. They are in contradictions to the teachings, and find them to be stupid and at odds with human science and known fact.
or
2. The use of certain elements of this religion as a homophobic weapon.
Like every human being we hate being told we are wrong evil and we our souls are doomed. Even more so if we have a clue about christian faith, and know of the contradictions.
You see, there comes a point where gay people accept they cant change who they are, and those who still believe in god (which is becoming the minority faster and faster) start to realise:
"God appreciates everyone...He created man in His image. At least that's what we're always taught. And since God is love and God doesn't make mistakes, then you must be exactly the way he wants you to be, the way he intended you to be. And that goes for every person, every planet, every mountain, every grain of sand, every song, every tear, AND EVERY FAGGOT. He loves us all"
realising this, they are able to live there lives...
bringing me to my second point. Most christians dont remember david and johnathon, (i think it is) in the bible are two men within the bible itself who show each other love, and begin kissing, it should be noted neither of these men are smited for this, and its not made a big deal of at all in fact it is looked on in a strong good light, as the love they have saved each others lives and what not... being that religion has long been used as a weapon, in that one may take any random passage and use it justify an action, passages like levinctus have been used to attack homosexuals...i find it convienient most forget the story of our johnothan whats is face, son of saul, and david etc.
Unfortunately to the hush hush teaching of the christian faith very few, even the homosexual now of the condonining/acceptance right there in the text which is used to vilify and condemn them. and thus they register christianity as a enemy, a homophobic device, that accuses them of making a choice, and telling them to change.
That is my opinion....
It is also viable, that some homosexuals are born into other faiths, or are of other faith systems, and thus their rejection of christianity may be on the basis of a different belief system ... also with the increasing global turn to atheisim and taoism, there is also a number of theories into registering the manipulation of christianity to control. (thought thats a topic for a nother day)
In my quick closing, id like to say, that homosexuals mightnt have a problem with christianity, if christianity didnt force itself to have a problem with it...so that all the lovely homophobes couldn't play the religion card.
Christianity didnt expect homosexuals to retaiate with the surety and confidence, of pride and such... they fight back, and tell them to shut their frickin traps...they dont have a problem, they merely respond to what they are given

congradulations if you made it through that opinion piece, i apoligise it was very muddled and such, as i wrote it at this quite late time...but yes...hope it was infromative...sorry to those who i seemed to oppressed...you are entitled to your own opinions you dont have to have mine...
Devious Comments
Certainly, Christianity is a messed up religion that never agrees with itself, and has through time always been preached as it has been interpreted, not verbatim.
On the other hand, homosexuallity is a mixed bag, at best. Homosexuals no longer are useful to the propogation of the human race, which is one of human's pre-built goals and one of the Catholic church. Using that kind of logic, homosexuallity is (and used to be considered, though has been reversed for "political correctness") a mental issue. The Catholic churches views on anything not white, male, hetero-, and Republican are put down, especially when they see that they person has some kind of "problem".

As an article this has much room for improval. The language is colloquial and is more reminiscent of speech than of a written editorial. The structure is incoherent and the formatting (paragraphs not separated properly, occasional lack of capitalization) makes it hard to read. In general if you feel like using an ellipsis (...) in a non-fiction piece then something is usually wrong. I think that people should edit, polish and proofread their pieces before submitting them as News.
i don't agree/disagree with that, but it's what they're supposed to think...
The problem with the catholics is they attack homosexuals first but stay quiet about their own promiscuity issues.

The only way is all the way
Religion is belief. It does not have to be based on a strict set of beliefs. It is moldable because we have no proof of God besides our hearts, which is truly enough for some, but back to the topic.
It really depends on the couple. Honestly I don't believe God would punish you for following your heart. God is your heart. At least in my belief. He would not lead you to do things that are wrong without you knowing it's wrong... and then it is no longer God leading you to do it. In loving someone of the same gender it's just who you are. Would God want you to defy that?
But again, it really involves more of the individual moreso the collective. This article, and the comments can only come from bias oppinions.

Today, divorce is socially acceptable and homosexuality is taboo, but if we look in the Bible: Jesus spoke out countless times against ending marriage and he never even mentioned homosexuality.
Don't say I support homosexuality, because I don't! But think about this: Do we, as Christians, dislike homosexuals because of what the Old Testament (before Jesus) says or are we unwilling to admit our own homophobia???
I know for a fact that God loves everyone, so why doesn't the Church? "If you cannot love your fellow man, who you can see; how can you love God, who you cannot see?"
Again, I do not support homosexuality, but I think that we, as Christians, need to become more tolerant and understanding of ALL of God's children.
Peace!

Always stand up for your principles- even if you stand alone.
When Jesus said 'Love Thy Enemy,' he probably didn't mean kill them.
