The expected theme of this of course will be:
Gift Giving (or Receiving)
I do not wish to offend anyone by using any religious days, but will accept poems that include them. So the basic theme has to be about either giving gifts or receiving gifts. Everyone knows it feels wonderful to receive a gift, even the most unexpected ones. Your piece does not need to include any of the holidays that are approaching, it just needs to be about giving or receiving.
I am breaking this contest down into two. There will be a Poetry contest and a Prose contest.
Poetry Rules:
There are no parameters to writing your poem, other than the required theme. It can be many lines, write an epic if you wish, or it can be few lines, some say less is more. Have it rhyme or enjamb it all. One stanza or numerous stanzas. Songs/lyrics count too. It is all completely up to you.
Prose Rules:
This one has a bit of a requirement. I expect no less than 100 words. Wow, that's not much at all. Just make it about the required theme. Write 20 pages if you want. I will read every single word. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling are going to be a factor. So if you do not use spell check or anything similar and just have a rambling of words, your story may just get tossed. Mistakes are common, and wont deny you completely from the prize. They will just be a key factor of deciding the winners.
Prizes!:
Well, as I said up top, 10 subs. Though there will only be two grand prizes of 1 year.
Best Poem = 1 year subscription
Two 2nd Best Poems = 3 months subscription
Two Runner Up Poems = 1 month subscription
Best Story = 1 year subscription
Two 2nd Best Stories = 3 months subscription
Two Runner Up Stories = 1 month subscription
I will judge and select judges accordingly.

"The internet is a risky place to conduct business or store assets. Hackers, crackers, snoops, spoofers, spammers, scammers, shammers, jammers, intruders, thieves, purloiners, conspirators, vandals, Trojan horse dealers, virus launchers run loose."
do we submit the poem and then link it in a note
or just send it in a note ....
cause I think a note will lose my formating ...
If you wish, send it by note. If there are any formatting issues with the note system, submit it and send the note with the link. However, I will only take this consideration for those that have special formatting. Otherwise, please send the poem in the note.
