reports, November 26, 2006For the casual onlooker, it can appear that the majority of dAmn has become a separate entity from the artistic community that is deviantART. Of course, as with every generalization, there are exceptions, and in this case, that includes a new dAmn channel, #ArtScene.
This channel began as a vision shared by =joysoftruth, @shutdown, and *Bluecatdemoness, later joined by `princessmorgan who, working as a team behind the scenes, created the framework that has become the foundation for #ArtScene. With the foundations in place, the founders began the process of selecting a group moderators from all areas of deviantART, building a team that will be an integral part of the channel.
The Featured Artist, selected by the #ArtScene team will be interviewed and have a ‘testimony’ written that will be posted in the ~featureART journal. Every feature will include a focus on the artist's work, and chosen pieces will be given a
, therefore creating a Feature Gallery in ~featureART’s faves. Each Feature Artist will also be given the option to be the focus of a featured chat, in #ArtScene.
On occasion, #ArtScene will host opportunities for its members to showcase their work and receive honest critiques, as well as creating many other great opportunities to bring the community of dAmn closer to the artists that make up deviantART.
The #ArtScene team is pleased to announce the launch of our dAmn channel, with our first feature chat!
We are thrilled to have ^garrit, one of deviantART’s Photography Gallery Directors as our first Featured Deviant. A regular, contributing member of #photographers, and one of that channel’s original founders, ^garrit is a friendly, helpful member of the dAmn community, with a gallery that will impress even the most particular photography lovers. A browse through his gallery will also open your eyes to a wide selection of photography, from a variety of deviants!
Our first Feature Chat will take place on Friday December 1st at 6:00PM EST/GMT-5:00 (Find your local time here.) and will last for approximately 90 minutes. The format will be similar to other dA feature chats you may have attended, though it will have it’s differences, with the rules being posted in the *ArtScene journal.
Please keep an eye on the *ArtScene journal in the coming days for the rules and other updates, as well as a biography and featured thumbs!
It is our hope that this project will inspire more artistic creativity in the dAmn community...
