that is only from 3 galleries [and some linked to me from :devmirrorkills, from what he found], and there were still some i recognised, but couldnt work out who owned them.. i probably would have put them here, but... i was lazy. sorry. Goddamit, I hate such websites -_-

I get my art stolen on Flash Games website quite often, and all they can say is: "Come on, we're promoting your flashes!"... yeah, of course, without mentionning my name or gallery URL, sure...

What I'm using now to prevent stealing is a protection code and a complete credits page in all of my games.

As you can't code in pictures (duh), there is still the (sad) solution of watermarks... if everyone would watermark pictures, it would prevent most stealing :/

The truth will set you free.

According to this site, these were all supposedly 'harvested' from MySpace. I'm really not surprised by it at all.

It was just last week that I found someone using my artwork in their myspace profile. They were using their photobucket account for hosting. Arguably, photobucket is worse since it allows the ordering of prints.

I don't want to deface my own artwork by watermarking all over it though; so the conundrum continues.

Consciousness is Tedium

I emailed the person who runs the site, explaining what copyright meant and also informing them that they were breaking international copyright law. I pointed out that usually when you find an image on MySpace, it wasn't created by the owner of the profile it was found on. No response as yet...

I heard about this from someone's journal. I emailed both the site owner and the domain host they registered with. Don't think it'll go anywhere tho. They stole one of =Barbiedoll's first full paintings too (the mermaids kissing one). She'll be upset when she gets back online.
